About
The service I provide is unique because I take an individual approach of meeting each person where they are on their personal journey to living a more fit life. I work with each person to set small achievable goals and work with them to teach them how to turn those goals into life long habits. I enjoy working with people who are ready to take small steps to better their health. It is an amazing thing when people begin to feel the difference their changes are making in their life and want to continue on with their journey.

Melissa is the best health and wellness coach around. She is very knowledgeable in both fitness and nutrition. I have worked with Melissa for over two years and during that time I have not only increased strength, flexibility and cardio endurance but also gained a consistent nutritional balance. Her positivity is contagious and there is no greater champion to help you reach your goals.

Melissa has been my personal trainer, Pilates instructor, and overall health and fitness coach for two years. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and ready to meet you at whatever level you are at in order to make improvements to your health and fitness. She is reliable, flexible, and consistent in her approach to tailoring her program to meet your needs. I highly recommend Fit4life if you are looking at improving your health and fitness level!

Melissa was on time for our first meeting and she had an excellent background to work with me. I am very close to eighty and wanted someone with experience with my age group. Melissa has that experience. I've been to her home studio twice and her experience really shows in the program she designed for me. I need to work on flexibility, strength and balance. In this short time I already feel improvement and without soreness or pain. Good job Melissa!

Melissa is an excellent personal trainer. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found her. Melissa is knowledgeable about the muscles in the human body and she knows which exercises will help them to become stronger, which is what I want for my body. She also knows a lot about nutrition. Melissa is also obviously passionate about her work and her own physical fitness. Seeing her enthusiasm inspires me to keep going with improving my fitness. I do need the inspiration because I become lazy about exercising. Melissa is patient and doesn't push me beyond my level of comfort or ability. What I mean is that she recognizes my present physical capabilities and doesn't force me to perform at a level that my body can't handle. I really appreciate that. I don't have any negative feedback. Melissa is helping me tremendously! I can't ask for anything more in a personal trainer. If I'd hired any other person I know I would've given up by now. Melissa motivates me :)

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

My fees are $60/60 min, $45/30 min session, if I am traveling to a client. I do offer package deals and/or discount pricing if clients travel to the studio I work at in Elk Grove. I also offer different fees for buddy training and small group training.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Typically I do an initial assessment session with each new client. We discuss goals, obstacles, nutrition, health issues, injuries, as well as conduct a basic fitness assessment to obtain a baseline in strength, endurance, and flexibility. My approach will vary depending on where each person is at on their journey and what their specific goals are.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been in health and fitness for over16 years. During this time I have attended many trainings, conferences, and obtained several specially certifications such as Cancer Exercise Specialist, Functional Exercise, Pre/Post Natal, Working with Active Older Adults, YogaFit, PilatesFit, to TRX Suspension Training and Insanity Instructor.
