Angel and his crew made two pillars and four below-ground concrete pylons as footing for a 4-legged gazebo to straddle a circular pavilion in my backyard. His crew also poured a 7’ x 2’ concrete slab in our side yard to function as a grill parking spot. Angel had car trouble the first day, which delayed the start of work to two days later than we had agreed on. His crew spread the work over three evenings, delaying another crew's start date for assembly of the gazebo by two days. The posted rate for Angel's work was $45/hour. When the work was finished, Angel presented me with a bill that would have charged $40 an hour for each of his crew's 5 laborers. Angel may be an engineer worth $45 an hour, but someone digging a hole for concrete does not earn $40 an hour, so we renegotiated. Angel received $45/hour, and each of his workers earned $20/hour. We declined to pay for hours when multiple workers were present, but only one of them was working, since the others were just waiting for Angel to arrive. In addition to wages and materials, we paid $150 for gas. Angel would have spent less on gas, if the work had been concentrated into fewer days, which I would have preferred. The end result is: the anchors are level. The two front pillars have air pockets as large as 0.5" h x 2.5" in the sides, indicating the cement wasn’t packed down well. (I will use filler to get a smooth surface, after which paint will be necessary to hide the filler.) The work started late, was spread over too many days, and the concrete pillars should not have the air pockets they have. On the up side, I appreciated how clean the worksite was when Angel finished. He also gave me a few expert answers to questions I had about other potential concrete projects. Angel is polite and knowledgeable. Even so, it is important to be very specific with your timeline, cost expectations, and aesthetics up front.
SW Construction was hired by the seller to repair a truss HVAC support, and section 1 items on the home I am purchasing and where I have resided as a tenant. Scott and his team were great! Scott explained every detail of what they were doing, reviewed every item his team repaired, and gave instruction as needed or if he saw the need for additional changes. He was patient with us all and I felt comfortable asking any questions and would get a clear easy to understand response every time! Having a good work ethic and follow-thru, I would recommend SW Construction any time and they will be my first go to for another project. Thank You Scott and the SW Team for a job well done!
We highly recommend ProBuilt Construction. Brent and his crew are very professional, highly skilled, and provide good value. We had Pro-Built construct a complicated pre-fab barn which we purchased from another vendor. Unfortunately, the vendor had no experience with our design, so there were numerous issues with the design/supplier. Brent was able to engineer fixes and he provided us with a product far superior than designed at a great value. Brent and his crew are an absolute pleasure to work with. You will not be disappointed in choosing this excellent company.
I highly recommend George at CanTrim. He remodeled a structure on my property and gave great suggestions while staying within my budget. The finished wine bar has exceeded my expectations.
Rick has done several jobs for me, from minor repairs to fixing a structural defect on a second story addition built by another contractor. The job I am most pleased with is a large pergola structure in my back yard, built out of cedar. Everyone who sees it, raves at how well it is built and how incredible it looks. Ricks craftsmanship and attention to details stands out above others.
Needed to have my structural evaluated due to foundation settling, John and Mihaela contacted me right away, came out and did an excellent job explaining the structural damage of my home and how to treat the soil from settling to prevent further damages. They were quick, knowledgeable, show great concern for the structure and provided a thorough report of what they found. Excellent service!
Josh is super easy to work with and very fast. I will send more to him for sure. Thank you for your help!!
