This is our first time having to landscape. So we are totally unaware of everything that has to do with landscaping. Of course like many others we are on a budget. Knowing that, to landscape our backyard we anticipated it to be pricey. Also because this is our first house we wanted something worth looking at, something that will last. And something that would bring value to the home if we choose to sale it in the future. We knew that going with concrete is quick, easy and somewhat inexpensive. But on the other hand, it will crack, not appealing and difficult to resolve if planned to remove. So my wife and I made a couple of calls and got some quotes. We made an appointment for Chris Murray because he had so many great reviews. Long story short, he's very efficient, organized, knowledgeable and plenty of experience in this field. What's great is that he's not their for your money, I mean he is but his main goal is to meet your expectations and to work with what budget you may have. He will squeeze and optimize your budget to its fullest potential. So we went with pavers since it's more desirable and everything else that comes with it. Chris was here almost everyday to touch base with the crew to make sure everything comes out the way you want it to be. The process was fast and seamless! Price was great and with a discount too. Let a alone the great service and reassurance that Chris provides. We are very satisfied with the choose we went with! Thanks Chris!

We moved into a brand new home with absolutely nothing in the backyard. When we finally got around to landscaping, it was clear from the companies we met with that Black Diamond was the most professional and reliable choice, hands down. Our high expectations continued to be met, and were exceeded, by Chris Murray and everyone at Black Diamond. Thanks to a cancellation, our project was started the day after we signed the contract -- talk about fast! The job itself went quickly and smoothly, even finishing a day earlier than expected. Chris was accessible throughout the whole process and stopped by on more than one occasion.In the end, our simple backyard design turned out even better than I had hoped and I'm glad we trusted Black Diamond with our project. I would definitely hire them again for any future projects we might have.

Black Diamond has been amazing in regards to helping us create a beautiful landscape for our little backyard. We bought a new house with just dirt. Nothing exciting about that! We wanted to expand our living space so our son had a place to play and enjoy the outdoors. We were lucky enough to meet Chris Murray who not only designed a beautiful and functional space, but he went above and beyond with his time, availability, and follow through to make sure that not only that the job was done, but that it was done well. I was very picky about a few things and he acknowledged and addressed. No complaints. He takes customer service to the next level. Juan, Antonio, and their team deserve a shout out as well... beautiful work! Paver installation requires attention to detail. Thank you! I'd recommend over and over.

We really wanted to love Black Diamond after reading such great reviews and seeing photos of their work, but for us, customer satisfaction doesn't just come from the job looking nice - it's the entire experience including cost, communication, time, professionalism, how the company addresses issues, etc. Unfortunately, the people we worked with fell short in many of these areas, which drew out the simple job longer than necessary. We had all sorts of problems from the polymeric sand not being put down properly (which looked sloppy) to water hammer from the PSI being set too high in the irrigation system (which can cause significant damage/leaks to pipes), and we often had to contact them repeatedly to have someone fix things because the job wasn't properly monitored or inspected for quality in the first place - our checks were just collected and we were told "we should be good" (mistake on our part for giving them the final check before ensuring the job was totally completed with no issues, but good thing we are proactive people who stayed on them to fix things). We hired a smaller private landscaper to finish the areas of our yard that we couldn't afford BD for (or that they don't do, such as a concrete walkway) and not only did they charge significantly less but we had zero issues with their work, which makes a larger, more expensive company like BD look bad in comparison. We literally paid them an amount that would've purchased a brand new Hyundai Elantra or Honda Civic (I know because we own both) yet the smaller company outshined them and only charged about 30% of the price for comparable work. I've read other reviews mentioning the same people we worked with at BD that seem to be the opposite of our experience, and I'm wondering if it has anything to do with how much a customer spends as we were told from the beginning that our job is small for them and if it would've cost a little less they wouldn't have even accepted it. If that's the case it's a shame, because while the amount we spent may seem insignificant to them it took us quite a while to save it and we expected it to stretch farther than it did, especially since we got much more for our money with the private company. I have also seen BD's BBB complaints, which I recommend checking out before hiring them since we did have some of the same issues that others took to the BBB for help. The light at the end of the tunnel is the paver warranty, I suppose. Our yard does look beautiful which is why we are giving three stars, but for the price we paid versus what we actually received, we don't feel it was worth all the trouble. Overall we would not recommend Black Diamond.

We came to know about this company from a friend. My friend had his backyard done and it came out beautifully. I never really thought about having pavers installed until I saw my friend's backyard.Chris Murray was our contact person. He was friendly and I was impressed that he even gave a presentation about the company and what they were about. I already had a design in mind and Chris helped make that design into reality.My whole backyard initially cost almost 25k which we were able to negotiate. My husband called Chris and asked if there was some way that he could lower the price after we had already signed the contract. Chris said that if we removed the weeds in the yard that he could take a couple grand off the final price which we were more than happy to oblige.I liked that he checked on the crew that did our yard on a daily basis on site. He made sure that everything was up to par and that everything was moving along as it should be. My whole backyard took about seven working days to complete. It was actually faster as the proposed time would have been 2 weeks. The father and son that did the actual work on my yard was amazing. I have only good words to say about Santos and Callisto. They were efficient, friendly, hard working and they knew what they were doing.I have recommended the company to my neighbor and to my friends. So if you are looking to get pavers done for your yard, then this is the company to hire.
