FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly researching the newest teaching strategies and attending conferences to be sure I have the most current information in order to help my students connect with and learn the material. Although the math topics don't change, the creative, innovative methods do and I want to provide my students with the best techniques available. Schools are transitioning to Common Core mathematics and this will change how math is taught and the challenges students are required to overcome. I am involved in developing and using lessons and strategies to help students transition smoothly.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've enjoyed tutoring and teaching since I was in grade school. Teachers often joke about the joy of teaching being in one's blood, but it's true. After I graduated from UCLA, I was a pharmaceutical sales rep for 3 years and I found the work to be dissatisfying since I wasn't helping people directly.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I'm a down-to-earth educator that cares about each of my students dearly. I view myself as their math coach and strive to support their learning so they can achieve the goals we set together.
