Edwin has completed a number of tasks for us and we have always been so pleased with his work. The tasks have varied from redesigning our entertainment center so that he could install a new 39 inch tv along with a new blue ray system. He has designed new shelving in a sewing closet,, and completed the transfer of information from an old computer to a laptop system. An older floor lamp needed a whole new socket, preventing a potential fire hazard. He completed it with clear attention and efficiency as he does each task in our household. An old set of binoculars was useless until he took it apart and reassembled and adjusted the lenses to bring it into focus We have a beautiful German made grandfather clock in which a lightbulb burned out We were unable to replace it and Edwin, upon looking at it, realized that the clock was a European wiring system. He was able to rewire the clock to make it adaptable to accommodate American bulbs. At one point our water heater would not accommodate the need for hot water. Edwin was able to bypass the energy efficient device which had malfunctioned and he made a very thorough diagram which the electrician could review on a follow-up visit. Edwin is fun to watch complete his tasks. He moves quickly, explaining what he is doing as he goes along, and he cleans the area when he has completed the task. What more could you ask?

First, I will tell you up front that I did not hire Edwin to do the work I am about to describe. Several years ago, he and his wife invited us and a few other folks to join them for the weekend at a home in Sonoma that they had rented as part of a church fundraiser. Part of the deal was that we had to clean the house before we left. The carpet and floors were pretty dirty, even when we got there. When we tried to vacuum it up, we realized why they were dirty. The vacuum was not working well. The motor ran, but it barely took up any dirt. Now I admit, that I was sort of all for doing the best we could do with a broom and just letting the owners know that they needed a new vacuum. It was pretty old. But Edwin just quietly went about taking it apart and fixing it. Fifteen minutes later, we were back in business and left the place much cleaner than when we had arrived. The incident has always stuck with me. I was so impressed with how willingly and efficiently he did the work. I would not hesitate to hire Edwin and to refer my friends and family to him. He is one of the most ethical people I know.

Edwin is a perfectionist. He takes his time to scope the project and does not rest until he achieves his goal, no matter what he has to do to reach there. We had a huge project of installing recessed lights in our entire home (about 28 lights) and he was more than happy to work with us and give us estimates and list of materials to bring in. He was on time always, hardly took any break and worked with us on our personalized needs for lighting each room. He spent a lot of time with us trying to understand what we need and gave valuable suggestions. At one place, we encountered that we had hit a stud in the ceiling while drilling a hole. He stayed extremely calm and patched it up in a way that no one can tell there was a hole there! Everytime we walk into any of the rooms, its perfect with lighting. He also replaced all the switches in our home and fixed our dish washer! He worked through the 4th of july! I would highly recommend working with Edwin and look forward to having him over for more projects at my home. 5 star services

My husband and I were looking for help on a few odd jobs we needed done in the house, but it was very difficult to find someone to help. We wanted to install a fireplace mantel, an attic ladder, and a new sink with a disposal. Apparently, the jobs were just too small for most contractors. I found Edwin on Thumbtack and then checked out his personal website. He came out to see what work would be required, gave a very reasonable estimate, and scheduled a time to come do the work. When he arrived, he not only did the work quickly and professionally, but he explained what he was doing and why. My husband and I were very grateful since we want to learn how to do things ourselves. Unfortunately, as we were cleaning up, an item fell and nicked our wood floor. Edwin had to leave, so my husband and I did what we could to repair the floor. Nothing worked, so we called the original installers. It cost $50 to get them to come out, and they estimated the repair would cost more than $300. I contacted Edwin to see if he had any other suggestions, and he came out that same weekend and fixed the floor in under 45 minutes. We had all the materials, so it cost us nothing! I would definitely recommend him to anyone, and my husband and I will call him in the future if there is ever anything we dont feel comfortable doing ourselves. Edwin is amazing!

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Make sure that the provider follows through during the initial stages, such as return phone calls, sending in the quotes in a timely manner and/or keeping you up-to-date on the progress. Lack of response in the initial stages can be a good indicator of what may happen when the project has started, or when issues arise during a project.
