Cassandra D. says, "Harrison is an incredible piano teacher! He is wonderfully patient, kind, and brings a fantastic positive energy to every single lesson, making the entire experience so much fun. I’ve been his student since January 2026 and each session is filled with so much knowledge yet it doesn’t feel like a chore. He goes beyond just telling me about technique and theory by shows me exactly how to move my body so I can play with total ease. Even had a broken pinky and he knew exactly how to pivot our lessons during the recovery! His creative approach breaks down chords perfectly, completely unlocking the ability to play by ear, improvise, and recreate songs. With the chords and ear training I could easily hear a song and start jamming out on a piano on the spot, which is a great party trick :). Harrison helped me find my own musical voice in the most encouraging environment possible. I cannot recommend him enough!"See more

Anna T. says, "Our daughter started taking piano lessons with Doris when she was 7 years old. What we liked about Doris lessons was that in addition to teaching the more practical aspect of playing, she spent time in the beginning of each lesson listening to music and learning about classical composers. Doris is very patient with young learners, and it is very clear that she loves teaching children and share her love of music. My daughter always felt very well taken care of, and looked forward to the classes. My daughter loved playing on the new grand piano that Doris has in her living room. At the end of each lesson, Doris would write a note describing what they worked on and what the homework would be for next time, so there was never any confusion. Doris arranges recitals every year, sometimes in her own home, sometimes at a bigger venue. Last time it was at Prospect High School. She usually invites a local talented college age musician to perform at the recitals, which is highly motivating for the younger students to listen to. Doris charges a very competitive rate for her lessons, one of the lowest we could find in the area. "See more

Bev K. says, "I appreciate Johnandrew’s professionalism, as I see he has an overall vision for his students. One of the things that I enjoy and appreciate is that he can reel me back in when I feel like I can accomplish a difficult piece in and a short period of time. He focuses on tools to build to create a strong foundation to become a accomplished pianist. Johnandrew is a talented teacher where he encompasses wonderful communication skills for one to understand skills and the easiest approach to succeed. These tools may seem elementary, however, in time allows one to have a solid foundation. I feel like his style of teaching is comprehensive-but comfortable and uplifting. He doesn’t have an overpowering personality that’s so driven or strict that would shadow shame and for me that’s important for creative expression and musical growth. He incorporates tools to try that I would never think of- so a bit of thinking outside of the box. It’s a bit inventive. Its certainly been a good investment for me as an older adult. There is so much to grasp in a 90 minute lesson- and I can appreciate that. He is a wonderful musician to hear as well. He’s a talented gem and I’m grateful to find him."See more
