For almost 2 years, our lab mix rescue dog - Bailey - has challenged us on walks. I couldn't walk her - she pulled intensely on a leash & was distracted by anything she heard or anything that moved. ADD with physical reaction. If we came upon another dog on a leash, Bailey was aggressive and hard to control. My husband's back suffered from walking her, & he said I absolutely could not control her. Raquel's reviews prompted me to hire her. Within minutes of entering our home, she was in control. I was amazed at my dog's reaction to her direction. Bailey challenged her every step of the way - leaving the house, out the door, on the walk, encountering other dogs being walked. We observed how she handled Bailey, and learned so much. Our dog was heeling at her side! No pulling. Bailey kept challenging her, but Raquel kept correcting. Our first dog encounter was rough. But the 2nd one was so much better. Basically, Bailey was responding to who was boss. We have a lot of work to do. Raquel said Bailey would challenge us every day. It's up to us to continue using the tools she taught us. It will be a commitment. But now we know what to do. Hire Raquel. She promotes a one-session training and it works. That's what also drew me to her. Everyone's schedule is busy, and I wanted to train my dog without scheduling several appointments. What I saw was what Bailey could do with the right trainer, yet, Raquel was training us all. I'm very jazzed, but also understand that this will be a "walk in progress". Thanks, Raquel! I'll let you know how we're doing!
Karen is amazing - she is attentive, informative, and very considerate of the concerns I have as a pet owner. She introduced training tactics to me that will help me establish a respectful relationship with my dog. It's training that is beneficial for both me and my dog. I can't wait to continue the working relationship with her and Abby!
DeeCee was great! She came to me in Malibu and worked with my puppy, Milo, for 90 minutes. She taught me how to be more firm but also incredibly loving with my puppy and how to prepare him for service dog training. She affirmed what I did right and corrected what I did wrong and did an altogether great job. Milo loved her too! Would recommend! Many thanks from us!
General training not to be scard of people
Denise was great with my German Shepard name Misty. When I started with her Misty was jumping and pulling me where I could not control her. After two months I was able to train with her in 4 Paws for Patriots. She is now a certified service dog. We would not have been able to complete that task without her training. Vance Myers
A HUGE thank to Duane for all the training and change he has brought to my rescue, Bagel. I adopted Bagel a little over a year ago, he was the perfect dog. However, 2 weeks into his adoption he became aggressive with someone going into my apartment complex. It was the most terrifying situation ever & from that moment on everything changed. He would lunge at everyone and everything when I walked him, I was so anxious to even take him out around the block. I knew I had to make a decision to either get private training or take him back to the shelter. I brought in 2 other trainers before I found Duane. Both just sat on my couch and told me he was too aggressive to do any type of treat based training, etc. and that they couldn't help. I contacted Duane as a recommendation from a co-worker. On the first day, Bagel learned several commands, he didn't even know how to sit before Duane!! Every session, he improved. We conquered public areas, the dog park, and have started working on in-home aggression since Bagel gets particularly aggressive when someone comes in my home. Bagel even boards with Duane when I go out of town and he's always accommodating to my schedule. SO incredibly thankful I was able to find Duane, he helped me change a rescue's life and am eternally grateful for him!
Great working with Melissa. She is professional, kind and really helped me with training my dog. Thanks, Melissa.
Tim did a great job training our Yorkie and he also taught us how to handle situations indoors and outdoors. Tim is very accessible, enthusiastic and caring. He is very reliable person and very punctual to his appointments. Best dog trainer in Los Angeles, CA!
I didn't realize that there are many aspects to training a dog. Lulu had prior training, and working those techniques into the training with a personal trainer was sometimes confusing for me. It is true, you have to teach the owner of the dog!!! You must be determined to work with your dog every day, positive mind, and learn to relax yourself and your dog!!! I learned some new techniques, that will help me in my training of Lulu. With so much information, and an hour worth of time, I did feel overwhelmed. But was given paperwork on each activity we did. Which was emailed to me. I would suggest to space your classes, making sure your pup understands the lesson before scheduling the next class.
Earl and I would like to take this opportunity to tell you how pleased we are with Shawdow’s training to date. We were both amazed at how fast we got the results we were hoping for. We are slower at learning than he is. We also appreciate your nutrition advice. Shadow has put on weight and his coat is looking better than since we first got him.
From our very first training Angela made such a difference with our three dogs and gave us great pointers to improve on their behavior. So fortunate to have found such an awesome trainer!!
Pawsability was above and beyond anything I could have imagined! I have a new rescue dog and I wanted to make sure she stayed in our home when we went away. We also wanted to start her off on some basic training so we hired Pawsability to come and take care of Sky. We had a meet and greet at my house and Theresa spent a good hour explaining her services and even giving us tips to help us w our new rescue. During the stay they took sky on the daily trips they do as part of the community daycare program and Sky got to be socialized and have "on the job" training with other dogs and new people. We were sent texts, videos and photos frequently with wonderful updates about sky's progress. My house was left beautifully and Theresa even washed the sheets and towels she used. She left a report and set up our final training session that was included in our board and train fee. Oh and the fee was extremely reasonable. When we returned home Our dog was happy, healthy and had learned the beginnings of obedience training. I couldn't be happier and highly recommend this service. We will definitely enroll Sky in their daycare as well.
This review is long overdue. We worked with Dave a few months back and he is fantastic! My husband and I have a 19month old Goldendoodle who has had previous training, puppy training through Petsmart and Petco but none of it compared to the training we received from Dave. He is great at what he does and explains things in a way that make total sense, like why didn't I think of this before?! He uses positive reinforcement training, which was huge for us. Dave works with your schedule and is flexible, he emails you after every session to go over what you've learned and how to continue the training when he's not around. We see a total difference in our dog after having sessions with Dave, we are looking forward to having him back in the near future to continue our training!
Dave was such a great help to us in training our dog (or us, really)! He really took the time to explain the process and work with Sadie to overcome her fearful reaction to other dogs. She's made great progress & we look forward to more training sessions in the future. Highly recommended! Oh, and Sadie absolutely LOVES HIM.
Basic obedience training , and training my dog not to pull on the leash.. Philip and Michelle Kaough were awesome with my dog. I would highly recommend Philip and Michelle to people with new puppies. They have a true understanding of dogs and their underlying motivators. They helped my husband and I see how vital structure and consistency is for Bo's happiness and well being. I really hope in the furture that we get to continue to the next level of training class with them.
-She gave me useful tips to use with my dog. -Gave me homework to do to work on consistently doing training -Friendly -Understanding -Patient
Daryl is wonderful! He is super responsive and available. Answered all my questions promptly and sent me videos of my dog during the time he was being boarded and trained. Daryl is extremely professional and considers us part of his family. The dogs he works with are unbelievably well trained. It seems like he does a lot of personal protection dog training, although we took my Corgi puppy to him for obedience training. My puppy is very “willful” and needed an extra week of training and Daryl was incredibly accommodating for us. I couldn’t believe he would be willing to go the extra mile to make sure we and our dog are satisfied. Thanks Daryl!
Worked with my little Chihuahua Jax & after one training session I saw he was better already and getting rid of all those bad habits!
When I adopted my dog Lucky, I knew had behavior problems. Unless Lucky knew you, he would be very aggressive, unlike his normal, sweet self. I tried asking for help from others but their advice didn't work. I accepted that Lucky may always be aggressive, which was a bummer because I enjoyed taking him to the park and to the beach, but was always worried about what mood he'd be in. I'm still shocked at M's work, in 4 lessons Lucky has done a complete 180. Before the training, he wouldn't listen to me for simple commands like sit, and would constantly pull and try to control our walks. After the first lesson, Lucky began to easily listen to my commands for "sit" and "stay". Now that training is complete, I only have to ask him once to "leave it"/"stop" when he starts to act aggressively towards others! Lucky is also able to sit/stay and down/stay for at least half a minute, and knows to wait for me to signal him to enter or leave the house. It seemed like this progress would never come or take months, but thanks to M we were able to do this in a month!
I tried using a treat trainer but our dog still did not listen. Mike and Off Leash K9 Training Los Angeles were able to get the control over our dog that we wanted. The Off Leash team were there every step of the way and now we have a dog that listens each and every time.
LeNai is a professional through and through and knows dogs amazingly well and can handle every size of dog. Walking, training, playing - she is a pro! But what really makes the difference for me, is that she is treating your dog like it is her own. She gives my Sasha so much love and helps her overcome her separation anxiety. She gives updates every day, and I can 100% rely on her. When I go on my trips, I have 100% peace of mind leaving my dog with LeNai.
