I'm an expert educator as well as being a veteran pro musician, so it's easy for me to discover exactly what someone needs to do and program the lessons in the most fun manner possible. Showing people how to create music according to their own interests because it creates happiness. Whether professionally or as a hobby, playing music is, well... it's cool. I feel that aesthetics, and art in any form, enhance living, regardless of what style of music one plays. What I mainly like the most, is helping people reach their goals. That about sums it up.

Wow! I never thought that I could find an instructor that could really help me streamline what I want and need musically... that is until I had a lesson with Marty! I am a singer and over the years I have been overwhelmed by all the musical requirements i thought there were. So in efforts to knock one off my list I came to Marty to learn very very basic guitar. Its been a little over a month and he has really taken the time to get to know who I am musically and in what ways he can develop to me into my optimum musical desire. I am still learning guitar but Marty has crafted what I need to learn on the guitar based off what my singing goals are. He has really broken it down. Marty is very talented in teaching. He is an instructor and a music counselor/guide. He is a hidden gem for sure! I was definitely blessed to have found him as my instructor!

Over the years I've had plenty of teachers, but Marty really is the best by far. He really knows to listen to an adult beginner, and lead them. Fast here, slow there. This direction. That direction. And after just a few weeks I'm really feeling like a bass player. That's amazing to me. Thanks

Marty Buttwinick has been really great. His knowledge and personalized approach is far beyond what you look for in a solid teacher. It's only been a month so far but I've made lots of progress. One size does NOT fit all. I was looking for someone to simplify a lot of the music theory as it can get pretty confusing at times. I absolutely feel like I won the lottery when it comes to music teachers. Thank you Marty!

Someone saw me play at a gig and asked me if I would teach him. I did. I liked it!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Speak to the instructor and get a feel for how you work together. See his/her website, of course, but talk with them so you can get a personal feel for things.
