Bio:
Michele's violin career spans over 28 years of experience in the Los Angeles Music Industry. She received her undergraduate and Master's Degrees in Violin Performance from the University of Southern California where she received the foundation of her classical training studying with the late Eudice Shapiro for nine years.
After college, she performed in a classical trio for 2 & 1/2 years, giving concerts in over 25 states. But it was during that time that she "stumbled upon" electric rock violin and ever since has enjoyed performing in a variety of musical genres that includes rock, jazz, and country/fiddle.
For the past 9 years she has served as Assistant Concertmaster of Asia America Symphony under the baton of 5-time Grammy nominee jazz legend, David Benoit. Each concert combines a unique blend of classical and jazz influences where legendary guest artists are featured like Dave Koz, the Ahn trio, Keiko Matsui, Lea Salonga.
Her experience has also expanded and flourished to television and film work which has included playing in commercials, TV pilots, in music videos for artists like Guns and Roses and Mary J BLige & Jay-Z, the American Music Awards with Rod Steward, solo fiddle playing with Lee Ann Rimes, and the evening gown portion of the Miss Universe Pageant.
Michele's live performance experiences also brings a diversity to her playing, having performed solo violin in numerous rock bands locally and nationally, as well as Concertmaster for Lake Avenue and Bel Air Presbyterian Church orchestras and various recording sessions that included Academy awarded and nominated film composers.
As a contractor, she has brought professional musicians together for concerts at the Hollywood Bowl and Nokia Theater.
Michele's experience with such diverse A-List artists and settings is what brings a holistic and wide palette approach to her performing and teaching.
Currently, not only does Michele teach privately as a registered Suzuki teacher, but she also teaches a Suzuki Chamber group of violin students. She has previously taught group violin and orchestra for Education Through Music Los Angeles, private violin instruction, music theory and chamber ensemble for the Harmony Project, and Violin group classes at 4 elementary schools in the Conejo School district.
