Introduction: My name is Josh Elmore. I have been a professional in the music industry since 2012, playing and singing in groups all over the country and around the world. I have also been a private music educator since 2018, and offer a wide variety of music and voice lessons to students of all ages. From voice, piano, and guitar, to trumpet, clarinet, mandolin, and bass, I can help students develop a brand new skill or help knock off the rust of what was once a familiar instrument. I give students the tools to be successful at a pace that fits their desire. My goal is to help people realize that playing and making music is more approachable than it may seem.

Josh has got to be one of the best teachers out there - and I've worked with several. He made me feel comfortable on our first lesson and he was able to provide me with insight and techniques that I utilize every time I make music. He has an incredible amount of knowledge and skill in multiple facets including voice, guitar, piano, and even traditional band instruments. Not only is he teaching this stuff, he's been putting it into practice professionally for years. I took voice and guitar from him and saw improvement after the first lesson! I 100% recommend Josh whether you're just starting out, or even a seasoned musician. This guy is the real deal!

Josh has been such an amazing voice teacher for me over the last year. He instantly made me feel at ease as a beginner and now I am so much more confident when singing. I’m so grateful for the many invaluable lessons he continues to teach me and can’t recommend this guy and his talent enough. Always excited for my next lesson!

Highly recommend! I have had lots of singing lessons from Josh, and every one has been super helpful, as well as fun! The whole experience was incredible, Josh's knowledge and kindness was wonderful and I came away feeling empowered. What a rare find. I have improved loads and am really grateful for Josh's patience in helping me, he puts in so much time and energy to ensure the lesson is really suited to your needs. Can't recommend enough :)

Not having played the piano since late teenage years I was slightly nervous about taking up lessons again in my early 60s. Josh made me feel relaxed and comfortable from the word go ..... filling me with confidence and lessons were a calm reflection of his personality. Time spent during lessons was a pleasure and he helped me to practically pick up where I left off all those years ago. Thank you Josh. I would recommend Josh 100%

Josh is a true professional. He knows music and has taught at many levels, he also has plenty of live performance experience. His lessons have really helped my breath control and ability to blend with other singers. I recommend him without hesitation.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I like to get to know my students and find out what their personal goals, favorite artists/songs, and styles are - and from there learn where they are with respect to their instrument. Lastly we'll pick material that you want to be working on and figure out the best way to get you where you want to be!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I went to CSUF for Music Education and Musical Theater, have been singing and performing for 16 years, and have been teaching privately for nearly three years. I also have professional firsthand experience in the music industry and am a working musician in several different acts that tour the US and parts of the world.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

I started singing at church when I was a kid, joined a local performing arts organization when I was 13, and started singing in a choir in high school when I was 14. I had taken piano lessons during high school, and also picked up the guitar when I was 17. The rest, as they say, is history. I decided to go to college for music and that's where I really honed my craft. After college I started working professionally in choirs and performance groups, and had begun teaching periodically on the side. My family is a family of educators, and my speciality is music education.
