After nearly fifteen years of working in the window cleaning industry So Cal Squeegee Pros owner Tim Bishop began to grow restless and ready for a change. He briefly left the trade but returned after finding the same dissatisfaction everywhere he looked.
"Eventually I figured out that it wasn't the work I disliked. My dissatisfaction came from the way other companies operated. Everything was about the bottom dollar and the 'time is money' philosophy.
Craftsmanship, honesty, and fairness with customers and employees didn't seem to matter anymore and that didn't sit right with me. One day while working for another company I did exactly $500 worth of business in 8 hours while working by myself.
Throughout the day and the next several weeks I couldn't shake the thought that I already had all the necessary tools, a truck, and nearly 15 years of professional experience, most of them running work for other companies. Why was I still working for anyone else?
I could do the same work, charge customers half as much, and still earn over twice the income. A couple of weeks later a disagreement with the owner of same over priced company sealed the deal and So Cal Squeegee Pros was born.
