As a relationship-saving licensed marriage counselor in practice for over 20 years, I've helped countless people who were on the verge of losing their relationship for good to stop their breakup even if they feared it was beyond saving and even if they were the only one who wanted to save it Client successes and what others say about my work: "Before we came to Fred Talisman, my wife and I were on the verge of divorce. Issues had become so complex and intertwined that we couldn't begin to sort through them. Also, the emotions associated with the issues were preventing us from being able to work them effectively. Trust had been breached as we "acted out" in various ways to relieve the stress. Fred provided both a supportive, safe container as well as the feedback necessary for us to separate the issues from our emotions and the issues from each other. He also taught us how to compartmentalize issues, breaking them down into simple negotiations. With his help, our marriage has transformed into a place where we can manage our relational and situational challenges in a way that brings us closer together, rather than pushing us apart. Thank you, Fred, for helping us save and positively transform our marriage!" -David and Christina Litman "When he and I were in crisis last February, and looking like we were about to end our relationship, we agreed to get help as a last gasp attempt to possibly save "us." I began the search for someone local, knowing that anyone we chose was a crap shoot at best. And I was feeling like if we are going to do this, I wanted to give us the best possible shot at a positive outcome. I found your info online, and I wish I could tell what it was that resonated with me, but something did and I convinced him to participate, at least to give it a try. Fred, it is hard to express in words the process, or how it worked (not trying to make it sound mystical here) but there is no doubt that it did. You brought clarity to so many issues and enabled us to rediscover the joy we had shared in each other in the past. We learned to laugh with each other again, and we have tools to keep any conflict from developing into something unnecessarily weighty. I believe we both feel that our communication skills and our depth of feelings for each other have been enhanced by the time spent with you. I wouldn't hesitate to share your contact with anyone who confided in me that they were concerned about the future of their relationship--thanks to you, ours has a future and it is bright! Thanks for being the catalyst for this rebirth -- you rock!" - Mindy Paulson "I called you because I really wanted to save my relationship. I feared that it was a lost cause and that we couldn't get past the infidelity, the lack of trust and his fear of commitment. I want to thank you for the guidance, support, and help you have provided. I have learned so much about myself, relationships, and how to communicate to others from you. Everything you said makes sense and everything you taught me to do worked and continues to work. I realize I can use your skills not just to keep my relationship strong but for the rest of my life. You've given me invaluable life skills. I teach all my friends what I learned from you so they're all getting the benefit of your help too. Thank you for showing me how to save my relationship. It's in a really strong place and keeps getting better." - Marsha Robins "Fred was instrumental in helping my wife and I work through a very difficult chapter in our life. After helping us work through the immediate "crisis," he went further and gave us the communication skills necessary to having a healthy relationship. These tools have transformed the way we interact and have allowed us to reach mutually beneficial agreements on items that had long been a source of conflict." -Stan Johnson We are doing fantastic -- better than ever. I honestly didn't think we would recover from our hurdle earlier this year -- I was convinced he didn't even want to. After working with you for just a few sessions, I cannot explain the impact and the difference your coaching continues to make in our day to day interactions. As we celebrate our 3-year mark next weekend, we truly have you to thank. We have never been happier, or stronger as a couple. The tools you taught us continue to enrich our communications and understanding of each other. Thank you Fred for saving our relationship -- I have a heart full of love and a life filled with happiness that I would not have today with him if not for you. Endless thanks!" - Cindy Sanders "My husband and I personify the saying, "Opposites attract," and one Saturday three months ago we'd finally hit the wall; We were in that make it or break it moment. This was especially frustrating because for the ten months prior we'd been seeing a highly recommended psychologist who seemed to make our emotional situation worse. Every session went about the same: we'd air our discontents, yelling would commence, tears would fall, and the psychologist would "arbitrate", but offer no tangible alternative ways of dealing with our conflict and emotions when he wasn't there with us. Then he'd conclude that while we were both, "intelligent, kind, loving people, maybe you're just not cut out to be together." Nothing felt more awful than being told by a professional that our relationship was probably doomed. We knew we loved each other - and I knew there had to be some better way. In desperation on that particular Saturday, I Googled "how to save my marriage" and that took me to Fred's website. Half an hour later we had him on the phone (on a Saturday, no less!). He asked us both one simple question, "Are you committed to saving your marriage?" Even though we were raw with anger, resentment, and hurt, we each said yes. And then he scheduled us a session for later that day. Ever since that first session Fred has been gently providing us with relationship skills we hadn't been taught before. His approach is non-judgmental, and deliberately - remarkably - simple, and his techniques do work quickly if you are dedicated to following the steps he's laid out for you. He provided us with time-tested ways to stop our fights before they start, and the techniques one needs to function more healthily in their relationship. Best of all he's started to give us a way to better accept each other the way we are - rather than try to change one another. And he does this without psychoanalysis or psychobabble. It is a very refreshing approach to couples counseling; He's not just a relationship saver, he's a relationship builder. Thanks Fred!" - Nichole and Jake Chambers "Fred Talisman is a genius. In two weeks He took us from being in crisis to be in a happy secure place with each other. He's damned good." -Roger Bond "My husband and I have been married for 25 years. As is true with any relationship there are the best and the worst of times. For 20 years, I can say 95% were the best. In the last 5 years, those percentages changed!! I knew the love between us was real and that the bickering had to stop. By the grace of the universe I found Fred Talisman and my husband and I went to see what we were doing wrong to and for each other. It's as tho Fred has a prescription for relationship maladies as surely as any medical doctor. I hope that anyone who feels a dis-ease in their relationship will work with Fred. You can't afford not to go. My husband and I both feel Fred helped us save our marriage." -Nico Wright "By the time I found Fred Talisman, Cindy was ready to break up with me. I was devastated. She is the person I love more than anyone. She is my soul mate. She felt that she could never trust me again and that she could never forgive me. Before I found Fred, I had tried other things and spoke to other people, but not only were their methods ineffective, some actually made things worse with her! I saw couples counseling with Fred as my last resort but she wouldn't do it with me. I worked with Fred on my own while working with his home study course, "Save Your Relationship." I'm not geographically close to Fred's office, so I worked with him by phone. To my amazement, working with Fred by phone was more valuable than any help I've gotten in person. Thanks to Fred, she gave me a last chance. Fred gave me hope beyond hope. I was impressed with his depth of understanding and compassion. I saw the first improvements with her almost immediately after the first session I did with Fred. Cindy and I got married almost a year after the crisis that Fred got us through. Using the things that Fred taught me, my wife and I are now stronger than ever as a couple. Our relationship gets better everyday. And that's not all! She is now pregnant going on 20 weeks! I am so incredibly excited about what this little life will become. We are ecstatic. Everything is working really well. It's amazing. I'm very grateful and thankful for all of Fred's incredible help. The skills he taught me have also improved every other relationship in my life, including my friends, relatives, work mates and casual acquaintances. If everyone learned Fred's skills and put them into practice, the world would be a much better place. I really can't thank Fred enough and by the grace of God, I am on a much better track now with my wife. Fred not only showed me how to save my relationship. He also forever changed my life for the better. What I got from Fred is the most valuable help I have ever received.' What a difference he has made to our lives. Words do not say enough about how grateful I am. Thank you again Fred. I can't thank Fred enough for all that he has done for us." - Dennis Hart "When I found Fred, our relationship was in a difficult place. We were in a vicious cycle. Unfortunately the choice in our home was to get upset and to not talk about issues for many days or weeks. I wanted to rekindle our relationship and definitely to save our marriage, but I realized that we couldn't do it on our own. I was afraid to go to a marriage counselor who would dig up the past and probably get us more upset at each other and make things even worse than when we started with them. The main reason I chose Fred was because of his problem solving approach and his track record of finding solutions that work. Fred helped us to resolve the long standing issues that were driving us apart. With his help we're now able to talk things out and to have the consistent emotional and physical intimacy we have both wanted for a long time. Whenever we have a friend that's having a problem in their relationship we urge them to get Fred's help." Paddy O'Brien "When I found Fred I was a basket case. Some months before I found Fred my wife told me that she loved me but she was no longer in love with me. There were signs I should have noticed but I didn't. I was shocked. She later told me she wanted a divorce and she refused to go to marriage counseling with me. Within the first three days of working with Fred by myself and working with his Save Your Relationship Home Study Course, I made more progress towards saving my marriage than I had done in months on my own. Using Fred's tools, my wife knows I've changed. Fred has helped me to be a better listener, a better husband, a better parent and a better person. Thanks so much Fred for all your help so far." -Frank Taylor "Fred Talisman, a licensed marriage counselor for over twenty years, saves and revives a dying relationship. How does he do it? Well he's not the stereotypical marriage counselor who sits back and says "uh huh" and watches couples get more and more polarized as they further talk themselves out of their relationship by giving their laundry list of built up hurts and resentments. If a couple is drowning, he's the lifeguard and he jumps in and does whatever it takes to save them, to buy them a second chance, a turning point. I think he's a brilliant strategist. He uses his strategies to turn around years of pain. He uses them to defuse years of tension. He uses them to get the couple reconnected to the love and magic that brought them together in the first place. He demonstrates to them a path, a hope, a vision of the possibility of actually thriving together. To me, Fred is The Relationship Wizard. His ability to save dying relationships are his brilliance and magic. He forged it out of the heartbreak he witnessed countless times in his early years as a traditionally trained marriage counselor, experiencing over and over how that training was grossly inadequate in assisting him to save couples in crisis. He's a practical man. He knows from hard experience that by the time most couples go to a marriage counselor one or both may be ready to end the relationship and the window of opportunity to save that relationship is now, or never. When it comes to saving a relationship he's a bulldog. If there is a way to do it, he won't let go until he finds it. I think his strategies are a gift to couples." -Joel Roberts, Former Prime Time Host, KABC Radio "Fred Talisman is one of the top marriage counselors in the country and is on a mission to save relationships, keep families together and to show you how to make your relationship fully work for both of you. If your relationship has gotten off track or you just know there can be more, Fred can show you how to turn it all around and take things to the next level." -Kelli Calabrese, 2004/2007 Personal Trainer of the Year, America's Fitness, Nutrition and Lifestyle Expert Call or text me now for a free mini-consultation. I'm glad to spend 10 minutes with you on the phone to answer your most pressing questions and concerns including: - Can I help you to save your relationship - Can you rebuild trust after infidelity? - Your partner loves you but isn't in love with you. - You constantly argue. - You can't convince your partner to give you a last chance. - Marriage counseling your last hope. Can it work? What are the most important questions that you'd like me to answer for you? Am I the best one to help you save your relationship? I imagine it's really hard and maybe a little bit scary for you to decide what marriage counselor to go to. You may feel that marriage counseling is your last hope and you may also know of people who went to a marriage counselor and they felt the marriage counselor did more harm than good. I'm going to briefly tell you about me and how I work so that you have enough information to determine if I'm the one that's most likely to be able to help you to save your relationship. For over 20 years, I've specialized in saving relationships that were on the verge of ending even when only one person still wanted the relationship to work and even when they had no hope that it could be saved. I am happy to help you to rescue your relationship. It's my passion to save relationships, to keep families together and to make the relationship work for both people. You probably know of people who went to marriage counseling and it wound up ending their relationship. When a relationship is in crisis, it's in a very delicate state. Marriage counseling is not neutral. If done correctly it can make the difference between saving your relationship and your relationship ending. If done incorrectly, it can push the relationship over the edge. All marriage counselors have their biases. Some marriage counselors think that if a relationship isn't working, a person should get out. They'll tend to guide an individual or couple in that direction. I think of them as relationship killers. In my experience, that first session with a couple, especially when a person has already told their partner they want to break up, is a very delicate, critical time. As a relationship saver, I find that it's useful to assume that the leaving partner is one step away from leaving for good. If I'm wrong, no harm. If I'm right, then I will proceed with a caution that can help that couple to have a turning point. Can your relationship be saved or is it beyond saving? If you're like many people who've contacted me for help, you might be thinking that it's just too late to save your relationship and that there's so much accumulated hurt and resentment that you fear it's beyond saving. So, can your relationship be saved? In my experience, most relationships end unnecessarily and the breakup could have been prevented with the right kind of help. If your partner isn't willing to go to a marriage counselor with you, is your relationship doomed? Here's my question for you. How many people in a relationship does it take to save the relationship? Obvious answer, right? It takes two people to save a relationship. Of course. Right? Wrong! It takes a minimum of one person to rescue a relationship. In my private practice, with so many of the relationships I've helped, including the ones that were in crisis when I first got involved, I've only worked with one person. They took what I gave them and successfully stopped their breakup and reconciled their relationship. I would have been happy to work with them as a couple. It just wasn't an option because their partner wasn't willing to join us in the process. I'm a realist. I have a mission to help you to save your relationship and to keep your family under one roof. I work with what I have to work with. In my 20 plus years as a relationship saving marriage counselor, I have helped to save lots of relationships where only one person got my direct help.
