This is an overview of the key areas of attention that you will be focusing on with me. Within each area of attention lies a depth of insights and systems that will help you along your journey. The following are the key areas: * Athleticism and Coordination - You will be taken through a series of sport-specific, athletic movements and hand-eye coordination exercises aimed at strengthening your body and mind while fine tuning your racket and ball control. * Movement, Awareness and Breathing - You will learn how to tune into your whole body during a live-ball exchange from how to breathe properly, the timing of your split steps, preset reaction times, lead step and transition steps to split-base positions. * Technique, Synchronization and Model Development - You will understand more clearly how to synchronize various forms of technique to situational play; both offensive and defensive (Technique development of all strokes is a major component of our training, and it is not uncommon to spend hours refining a feature in a given stroke until it is neurologically strengthened and can operate at high speeds without breaking down). * Consistency, Determination and Endurance - Our primary goal in this area is to work toward and exceed a rally over 100 to 300 balls in a row at various speeds and court positions. This will not only help you gain a higher degree of consistency and confidence in your ability to outperform the competition but perfect your form, enhance your adaptation skills and improve timing and endurance. * Strategy, Time, Opportunity and Positioning - I will help you develop a keen sense of spacial control and awareness of how to manage time on court through shot selection, ball speed, controlling risk and how to create opportunities to exploit your strengths and position. * Competition, State and Flow - You will learn new models on how to control your state during competition. As this skill gets more refined, you will be able to move more closely to a state of flow more frequently. During this process, you will begin transitioning from thinking to feeling to ultimate trust in skill to sheer mental projection. In each session, you will have the opportunity to focus on and grow upon various sections of the information above. I am a constant student of the game, and as I expand in new insights, so will you too. Please feel free to ask questions as I am here to help! Thank You! Your Future Coach! I offer group and private lessons for adults and children in the Woodbridge area of Irvine, California. I specialize in teaching bio-mechanically correct technique which results in better power, consistency, and a reduced risk of injury. This teaching philosophy enables players to progress very quickly while also developing strokes that will not need to be changed as the player begins to play at higher levels. Over 50% of my current students have been taking lessons with me for at least 3 years. Twenty percent of my current students have been taking lessons on a weekly basis for over 5 years. I retain a very high percentage of my students for so long because they get better every week and really enjoy the process of getting better.(show more)
I am a top-rated tennis coach with 20 years of teaching experience, working with players of all levels. I teach private, semi-private and group classes. I played Division I collegiate tennis and teach my students to think, hit and play like a pro. My students appreciate that I can provide core fundamentals to their game, rather than trying to put them in a pretzel lock and make them swing a certain way. All pros have different styles, and they all work. I let players stay true to their style. Many of my clients have come to me with injuries due to their swings, and in those situations, I have been able to show them how to swing in a way that is easier on their body and still very effective and efficient. My lessons are fun and personally tailored to your specific needs and style. I love tennis, and my students do too!(show more)
