Daniel truly goes above and beyond to create memorable instructional experiences for his students. Especially given the challenges of teaching music during the Covid-19 pandemic, Daniel has found ways to keep his cello students engaged and always progressing in their musical endeavors. Couldn't recommend more highly!

Daniel is single handedly giving my son the most well rounded cello education I could have imagined an one teacher giving. He is truly dedicated to bringing out the student's inner musician, and does so in a cool, older sibling way, which keeps my 8 year old engaged and excided to progress. Daniel seems to have really found his calling helping the next generation experience the joy of music, while also teaching them about diligence and the dedication it takes to reach their goals. Can't recommend him enough!

My son has had several cello teachers over the years, and Daniel is by far the best. He is engaging, commanding, and he really knows his stuff. He is a skilled teacher and has taken my son to new levels. Daniel is also committed to his students. He goes above and beyond to help them find orchestras and chamber groups to audition for, and then he helps prepare them for the audition. My son's cello experience improved greatly when Daniel came into his life. I highly recommend Daniel Lim's Cello Studio.

Daniel Lim provides a unique approach to every one of his students, rather than having a cookie cutter lesson plan for everyone he personalizes for the person, seeing what they need in order for the student to progress. It shows that he truly cares for each of his students and is willing to work with them.

FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?30 min: 40$ 45 min: 60$ 1 hour: 80$ *an additional 5-10$ will be added if I need to drive to your home, based on location. *Initial rate also includes recording videos for an audition or social media, arranging pieces that are not written for cello, and providing potential concert opportunities. I also usually add an extra 5-10 minutes at the end of every lesson to guarantee that you are getting your money's worth! Trial lessons are free and lessons can be held either in my studio or your home (I live in Los Angeles County). For anyone who lives in the Inland Empire (Diamond Bar, Claremont, Rowland Heights) I am available for lessons on Saturdays. In person and virtual lessons available! (Proper safety protocols to be discussed if you wish to have in-person lessons)
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? When I meet a student for the first time, I always make sure that I have a clear idea in regards to their goals and ambitions and formulate a clear plan based off those goals. Some questions I will ask are: How long have you been playing music or the cello? Why do you like music? Why do you want to play the cello? What do you hope to accomplish when learning music and the cello? Is there a certain orchestra or program that you want to audition for? Is there a certain piece or song you want to learn?
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees from The New England Conservatory of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. It was at these institutions where I received training from some of the best musicians in the industry. During my time at the Cleveland Institute I was a participant of their Suzuki Pedagogy Program, a 2 year course which provided me invaluable training and experience in the art of teaching.
