It's like Rockband, only it's in real life and more likely to improve your guitar skills. Rates: * Upper West/East Manhattan: 1 lesson- $35/hr * South of 59th st: $40/hr (to compensate for travel time) * 30-minute lesson- $25 (regardless of location) Outside of Manhattan: $45/hr What I teach: Genres: Rock, pop, country, folk, reggae, metal, punk, jazz, blues Currently I do not teach classical guitar other than one-offs, but that may change in the future. Fundamentals: -Anatomy of the guitar -Chords -Strum Patterns -Rhythm -Basic theory -Single picking -Alternate picking -Finger picking -Sliding/bending More advanced techniques: -Harmonics -Alternate tunings -Tapping -Soloing -Melody composition -Harmonic accompaniment -More advanced theory Scheduling: To make an appointment, please call, text or email me at the address provided. The best hours to call are between 9am-6pm on weekdays and 9am-7pm on weekends. I am happy to answer any questions you may have. I am flexible about re-scheduling lessons but if you are going to cancel, please give 24-hour notice. This helps ensure that if you do cancel, someone else can have the opportunity to pick up a lesson. In addition, the only way to see improvement in your playing is through consistent practice, so it is important once you establish a schedule to stick to it as closely as possible. About Me: I love to play guitar! I've been playing for over 14 years. I've been in bands ranging from instrumental funk jams and acoustic sets, to crossover thrash metal, to soul and reggae rock. I've played at famous Hollywood clubs such as the Whisky A Go-Go, the Key Club and the Troubadour, and have opened for The Adicts and D.R.I. I hope to be able to lend my teaching and playing experience to make learning the guitar fun and exciting for you!
