I have worked with Lucy at Golden Poppy for several events, most recently a kids Halloween party where she created a couple of balloon garlands for us. Lucy worked with our schedule, arrived promptly, and created some super sweet garlands for us. I plan to continue to hire Lucy for all of my upcoming parties - she is truly a joy to work with.

One cannot go wrong with Golden Poppy Collective. They’re great to work with, very communicative and punctual. Our fundraising gala has very little set up time and the team worked tremendously fast to put together the balloon backdrop. I look forward to working with them more in the future!

I hired golden poppy to decorate my home for an Oktoberfest celebration with my friends. They did an amazing job. Everyone could not stop taking pictures of the decorations. I recommend golden poppy for any event planning that you may have in mind. They did such a beautiful job that I decided that the Oktoberfest celebration is going to be a yearly tradition moving forward. Aside from the work quality, Lucy and Andrea from golden poppy were both so responsive. They were there to answer all my questions and to help me make the best out of my event. I really cannot recommend them enough.

Golden Poppy was exactly what I was looking for when I started to plan my daughter's wedding reception to be held in our backyard. They were super patient with all my questions throughout the whole process. I couldn’t have asked for a better team of professionals to make this event the most amazing day ever. Lucy and Andrea were attentive, easy to work with and professional. They provided anything and everything we needed although we chose to keep it simple. They took care of every detail and found the perfect vendors to fit our needs. They transformed out backyard into a magical evening cocktail reception, complete with photographer, custom bartender, dance floor and comfortable seating areas. I really love and I'm fan of Golden Poppy's work! They combine an exquisite artistic taste for every detail with all the practical skills and knowledge of how to handle all the reception aspects, so professional always! They are a gifted planners and deeply love and enjoy what they do.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started event planning in and after college, planning events, conferences, trainings, etc. within the field of education. I moved to CA and started event planning on a large scale for non profit events with attendees ranging from 50-100 to events with over 9,000 people. Full service event planning is what I am passionate about and I can’t wait to find more clients here on Thumbtack!
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would encourage you to find someone who goes the extra mile. Someone who steams out the extra crease, remembers to record any impromptu speeches, and isn’t afraid of doing dishes or helping clean up.
