Michelle is a awesome life coach. I have had one session with her. In that session we covered a lot. At the end her listening and recapping only what I had said helped me to realize what I had already accomplished and what I can. Since then she has been available and coached me through major business decisions. She has gone over and beyond what I ever expected.

I am currently working with Jobi. I haven't worked with a personal trainer before often thinking that they were somewhat over rated. However after meeting with Jobi and speaking with him about fitness goals I knew I found the right guy for the job. He does what he can in regards to scheduling and seeing what works best for you and truly puts his clients needs first. I am looking to the end result of my time with Jobi.

After a long deliberation with my self , I decided to finally get myself a personal trainer. I've never worked out a day in my life (except the normal stroll with my dog , every other day) . So this was a little scary. But thankfully Eric made this experience a wonderful one. From the first email, address me by name and acknowledged my current situation and goals that were included in the questionnaire ( the other trainers I had respond to me, we're like, on auto reply or something. Maybe they were out on vacation? Idk) Anyway, pro health was the best decision I've made. If your nervous about working out, suffer from anxiety or just not sure if you can really pull it off. Eric will help you reach your goals and you'll see results fast. I did. The work out plan he had for me was 100% customized for me. Within the first 2 weeks my butt and hips were getting toner then I've ever seen them, it felt so good seeing my body transform so fast. And to be honest I WAS NOT dieting, HOWEVER at the same time my mind didn't want a bunch of junk food no more and my moods we're so much better and i motivated everyday. Pro health is a perfect example of what a personal trainer should be knowledgeable, ( I had a lot of random questions and he was able to answer them every time ) friendly, confident and makes sure you have a personal experience reaching your goals and keeps you motivated. Keep up the good work! Your amazing

Shoshanna is truly an exquisite personal trainer. She is very knowledgeable and knows exactly how to help me obtain great results! I have received several compliments from friends and family about my new physique! I've always been very active and pretty fit, but she has taken me, and continues to, take me to the next level! I finally feel comfortable in my own skin and am able to rock a bikini with full confidence... and this is saying quite a bit from a mommy of two :)

I first heard Julia give a talk at a function and asked if she could coach me about some things I felt stuck about. Because of her life coaching, my life is transforming because of the Julia's style and technique; she has encouraged me to open up and find out what really are my life's desires. I have learned how to put these goals into personal and professional daily actions--I am excited to see how wonderfully my life is unfolding! Chris is a great trainer and really knows his stuff. For many people, it’s tough to take that leap and hire a personal trainer to get in shape. It’s especially tough if you haven’t done any weight training before. However, Chris will teach and work with you no matter what your abilities are. He’s funny and keeps the intensity at the right level to see results while still being able to enjoy it. After working out with Chris, I feel refreshed. I don’t feel overworked, exhausted, or too sore. I’d highly recommend Chris to anyone who wants to improve their health, body, and happiness.

My husband and I've been OC Fitness Coach for almost 3 years. During these 3 years, we've had a lot of great experience and achieved goals (as the pic). Like performance and endurance have increased by a lot, less injuries and most importantly, it's so much fun! Nothing boring! I guess this is because Dan has 2 more associate coaches and we can get different methods, techniques and specialty. Dan gives us the overall training combined weight lifting and some cardio (hard circuit). He is super good at finding and strengthen our physical level easily. Russ is even harder than Dan. He raises the bar before I even know. And he is a certified Insanity instructor. And Taran is very very unique. Every time I get his training, I feel my body is remade. You don't want or you can't use any heavy weights, still he can make you feel like you lifted 50lbs dumbbells. As you can see, I highly recommend. If you are looking for personal trainers who are not typical big gym trainers, they are all you need!

Mira Joleigh is an amazing, insightful life coach! Our call this past week was so enlightening for me -- I felt that working through the pre-call homework assignment together was a great way to check in with myself, my goals, and what's next in the pipeline to focus on. She provided a myriad of resources to tap into - from networking to credit hacks - and was incredibly easy to talk to. I feel so empowered to take on the next 30 days with the actionable steps we laid out together, and I'm feeling refreshed and looking forward to the future! Thank you, Mira, for sharing space with me and guiding me through my goals! What a way to kick off my birthday week.

Allyson is working with our college-bound daughter as a life coach, guiding her through inventories, exercises and personal life strategies to help her prepare for the challenges that lie ahead, as well as tackle current struggles including anxiety. Allyson is incredibly encouraging and nurturing. She uses relevant, yet wise methodology that is tailored to my daughter's needs and learning style. I would not hesitate to recommend Allyson to anyone looking to learn more about themselves, work through areas of struggle, or just regain the joy in everyday life.

I had reservations about hiring a personal trainer. I figured that all trainers focused on was making money and not their clients goals. I was pleasently surprised when Richie didn't try selling me extra training sessions. He believes that if you want training then you will buy it. His trainings are customized to the person. Mine started off relatively easy then ramped up while my strength increased. Richie is a great guy who cares about his clients and will help people reach their goals.

Sierra has a really well-balanced approach to fitness, so it's great knowing that I'm not just getting stronger, but also building my cardio and keeping my flexibility.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What is a health coach?

A health coach is a service provider you can hire to help you realize your wellness goals. You can hire a health and wellness coach to guide you through life changes, keep you focused on weight loss or fitness goals, help boost your mental health, and more. Many health coaches work with their clients for set periods of time as the client moves toward a measurable goal. Wellness coaches come from varying backgrounds, and may have different areas of focus depending on their education and training. Research potential coaches by reading their reviews, researching their academic and personal backgrounds, and learning about any certifications they have earned from coaching institutes. Often, health and wellness coaches sell coaching packages ranging from three to six months or longer, depending on the client’s needs. The average national cost for an individual health coach session ranges from $60 to $90, although prices may range as low as $30 or up to $130 or more, depending on your location and the coach.

What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

What is a holistic wellness coach?

When you want to reach new heights with your health and wellness, consider hiring a holistic wellness coach. Much like a health coach, a holistic wellness coach is focused on your well-being and meets with you in one-on-one sessions to help you identify and reach your targeted goals. A holistic wellness coach will typically have you take all components of your life into account when working to achieve your goals. If your goal is to lose weight, a holistic wellness coach will not only offer recommendations for your diet and exercise, but also discuss your emotional health, your work/life balance, your spiritual side, and each area of your life that affects your ability to follow a nutrition and fitness plan.

Although they are highly motivational and often can help clients achieve great results, holistic wellness coaches are not professional health care providers or registered dietitians. Different institutes and training centers provide certifications for holistic wellness coaching, so be sure to research your coach and read their reviews to understand more about their techniques and training.

Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.
