- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
As of February 2016: Servers- $15.00 an hour each person. Licensed Bartender- $250.00 per event. Clean up- $30.00 per event. Chafing dishes- $18.00 each. Food tables- $8.00 each.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Our first process is to come up with a budget plan. While most caterers come up with a menu first and budget second, we dislike making our customers feel like they have to pay large amounts of money to have a delicious meal set before them. Therefore, we select the budget first, get our customers wants & needs, than we go over our menu options. This process will vary based by customer.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got into catering because I love cooking. I lived in Hawaii my entire life and cooked from when I was a little girl. As I grew up, I was the go to for recipes and slowly became the main cook at family parties. The largest party I ever cooked for (with the help of my immediate family) was for my sons first birthday lu'au where we had over 600 guest in attendance. It was an experience I enjoyed and knew I wanted to do over and over again.
