I had a 4x8 section of sidewalk replaced on the side of my house as well as a small 10x10 concrete patio installed. They did a very good job , obviously knew what they were doing and reasonable priced. I was concerned about the drainage of the new patio as it was right next to my house and garage and previously had drainage problems in this area. He listened to my concerns and explained exactly the steps he was taking to ensure smooth drainage. I waited to write my review until we had a good rain to ensure everything drained well... now it rained and all is well. It worked exactly as he explained :) I highly recommend this company.
Brandon met me at Lowes at 8:30am to pick up supplies. We got to my house around 09:15. He fixed a broken kitchen cabinet. He painted my bathroom including the trim around the window. He hung a Venetian blind in my 2nd bdrm. He replaced my old toilet with a new and improved version. All four of these tasks were part of the estimate. Brandon also unclogged my bathroom sink-not part of the estimate- he just did it. Brandon was finished around 3:45pm. He knew all the tricks that help a contractor save time, but still get the job done correctly. I am extremely happy with the results and definitely will be using Brandon for future jobs. I had some miscellaneous outdoor work I contracted with this company including tree removal, demo and masonry wall repair/infill. Jason was punctual and professional. We communicated before the contract was carried out, during, and at close out. He was clear and upfront about cost issues. The cost was fairly priced as well as the add services. My advice as a client is to be clear and upfront if you have issues or questions. Most things can be resolved with your contractor if you keep communication lines open. You can always say no or ask them to fix the work if it is not the agreed upon expectations.
Complete Sprinkler installation. I always get more than one bid on any large project and Giberto's approach was far superior to the other contractors biding. Gilberto spent time evaluating my current system, measured my lawn, discussed options with me and promised to get back to me with a proposal after checking pricing on the system I wanted. I selected his very competitive bid and gave a 50% deposit on Friday. The following Wednesday Gilberto & crew showed up and worked hard for 2 days installing a completely new system with timer. I appreciate the care that Gilberto & team took with my yard. Particularly I have roses that have been damaged in the past when I've had work done. Gilberto was very careful when working around my roses and caused no damage. I highly recommend Gilberto for this type of work. Very reliable and fair prices.
We received information that our shower would require some updating due the deteriorating nature of its foundation. The tile was also very old and not cosmetically pleasing. So we took this as an opportunity to update the shower and its tile, and also replace the old vanity and mirror. Not a huge job, but certainly a tedious one due to the install of the tile. We received quotations from other contractors; however we decided to go with James at Jamestown Design in the end. Pricing was on par with the other quotes received. Lead time of the project was also equal to what the other contractors had projected. What lead us to our final decision? James gave us a level of confidence, which the other contractors could not match, ensuring that the job would be done to our expectations 100%. The demo of the old shower went flawless. James carefully prepared the surrounding areas by laying down covers over everything, and even including the floor to reduce the amount of debris caused by the demolition. James showed up on time every day and left as quietly as he arrived. Every day he made sure that all of his tools, or whatever that was required for the job, was organized and off to the side & out of the way. As with any job unexpected issues can and will arise. More specifically, there was Black Mold found on one of the walls behind the shower. James brought this to our attention and recommended that we take care of this prior to completing the shower. He priced out the repair accordingly and with our approval he took care of it. James did not suggest anything that was unnecessary – This was certainly appreciated. Our bathroom and shower came out exactly how we wanted. The tile looks amazing and the quality of work is nothing short of exceptional. Apparently James does it all! He also was very helpful when it came to installing new doors in each of the rooms to our house. James is a great honest guy who does great work. We would certainly recommend James to any of our friends/family…And would most certainly have him do another project in our home when that time comes. Look no further than Jamestown Design.
We had Coggins Construction install crown molding in our home. Patrick was very professional throughout the entire process and satisfactorily completed the project under the initial price quote, which was already extemely reasonable. He actually listened to what we wanted and was respectful of our house-things that previous contractors neglected. We would recommend Patrick's services to anyone.
We had cracks in our concrete outside walkway entry. We looked at overlays and decided on installing real flagstone instead. It also had to match some existing stone. Dario did it. He always showed up as promised. The result is beautiful and my wife loves it! The picture depicts only a small portion of the work actually done, including steps. Thank you.
Customer focused and and a pleasure to deal with. Pretty large fence job including painting. About 150ft including a gate. Bonus is they can do anything else outside like we added on a cement slab. Quality of work is basic. That's what we wanted nothing too fancy or custom. Like just about any contractor, multiply the job time by a large factor like 2. Depends on other work they are juggling. Super accommodating to simple changes. Licensed, insured, bonded. Communication is essential here. Competitive quote and didn't try any scope creep beyond what I asked for!
I found Luke Carr Construction on thumbtack when searching for a contractor to paint the trim on our 19 unit complex. Luke did a fantastic job on our property. I've worked with numerous contractors over the years and I have to say I've never found one better than Luke. He takes pride in his work and aims to please the customer. We had a retaining wall done in our property and concrete poured for a patio extension. The wall was 30" H and 80' L made out of free standing blocks. The work was started and completed on time as promised per contract and the overall quality of the job was excellent. Ramon, the contractor was present in the job site and answered all of our questions to our satisfaction. I would definitely utilize their services in the future and would recommend his company to anyone.
I was very happy with the completed landscape project. Bill Sullivan sent 2 extremely good workers who removed a giant yucca plant, added to an existing wall while finishing it with stucco and a flagstone cap, as well as created a beautiful border between the sidewalk and the front yard with attractive-looking pavers. The price was fair and the quality, as well as the aesthetic of the finished work was excellent. I do think Mr. Sullivan knows his construction business, but he is not as responsive or really good at communication as I would have preferred. All in all though, if you are patient and flexible, the work was done very well.
Nationwide Secure did the tile flooring and sink installation for my bathroom. By far, they have been the most responsive and professional company out of all contractors I have hired. From time of thumbtack post to job completion was one week, and throughout, Nationwide Secure was straightforward and an overall pleasure to work with. I could not be happier with my finished bathroom. My initial bathroom setup was a bit awkward, but Robert did some creative work with the tiles to make the finished product look good. During the work, there was also some dry rot on the walls that he removed free of charge, just to do a thorough and complete job. The end product was stunning. Thanks Robert!
GW Construction helped me with a remodel. The job consisted of uprighting a 12 ft. support beam and approximately 25 drywall panels. The price was a lot less than other contractors that bid on the job and they completed the job in one week. Matt and Jody communicated with me on a daily basis asking how the job was going. They were absolutely dedicated to my satisfaction. The contractors that worked on the project were professional and made me laugh all day long. They even let me know when they saw a better idea for my remodel or saw something that we needed to tweak to make it look better. No fuss, no hassle, no problems. I received all of my work by word of mouth from satisfied customers. Some of the projects I have done over the years 1971 to 1978: Work in Europe (England and Holland): A. In London, I renovated a large warehouse to become offices and living quarters in Bromley, Kent. B. In Hollingbourne, England, I replaced dry rot in a 43-room home and oversaw the maintenance of this property and the one in Bromley for a year. C. In Holland, I turned a large farmhouse into a two story commercial property. Work in Europe (Italy): A. I renovated a twenty-seven-room, four-hundred-year old villa on a property called Poggio Secco outside of Grassina (Florence). I was in charge of the project and worked with a 30 to 40-man crew for two years. We installed a heating system that was a copper piping system in concrete floors that heated up the floor itself. We removed over sixty windows and shutter systems form all exterior walls and remade them to match the ones built 100 years ago. We replaced all of the panels and all of the wiring. We replaced all dry rot in the building and replaced hand-hewn beams to match the original. We built a rain catch system for drinking water. We completely replastered all exterior surfaces and had artists repaint murals and window frame vines and family emblems at each window. Gas lines were installed throughout for a propane system and the furnace in the basement. While there, I helped run the cantina and oversaw the harvesting of grapes, olives and fruit trees on the 400 acres that surrounded the villa. B. I spent six months in Rome and built the #4 rated disco in Rome. This was a 10,000-sq.ft. warehouse that we turned into a wine and beer bar and pasta restaurant. I ran this project and had a twenty-man crew I oversaw. C. Numerous other properties were renovated during this time period of 1971 to 1978 in Florence and Portofino over an additional two-and-a-half-year period. These were usually farm houses or animal stalls that we turned into small villas. The reason for this is no new construction was allowed, so if you wanted a new living space, you looked to what was already on a foundation, even if it was a horse barn. I had to work with the Belle Arte in Florence who would come out to inspect the work I did and make sure everything was done properly, down to the right paint color on the newly-built houses, matching what was on the old original houses. Work in Houston, Texas (1978 to 1985 and again in 2009): A. Worked in a cabinet shop as a lead fabricator and became the foreman within a month. B. For five years, I had a shop with a dozen employees, where we built the first mass-produced redwood lattice panels, pre fab gazebos and modular wood decking (my creation) to Sears and most major lumberyards. During this time, I had two companies - Cedar Creations and U.S. Wood. C. Built and remodeled many homes D. Built a mobile home park in Houston, Texas that had 200 spaces, where we began with a dirt lot and made all roads and infrastructures E. Built a 20,000-sq.ft. research facility for A. F. Tubescope Research in Houston, Texas F. In Abilene, Texas, I developed and built a 99-home development. I did all of the permitting and went to the city permitting meetings for approval and development for the project. I built the swimming pool, office, usage room building, all infrastructures. I did privacy fencing and eleven model homes. This was a recent project when I returned to Texas for a year to work for an old employer/developer. This was 2009. Work in Wyoming 2010: A. Reworked pumps and other machinery in six oil wells in Jeffrey City, Wyoming that were drilled in 1929 and only producing one third its potential. We got the six wells up and running to maximum potential and the developer I worked for sold these for millions above his investment. Work in California 1986 to present: A. In 1986, I had the opportunity to relocate to San Diego, California and build three custom homes. Since then, I have built many more custom homes and countless remodels and additions, as well as landscape and hardscape, decks, fencing. B. I converted an apartment complex in Casa de Oro, California into individual condos that sold within a few months of completion. I worked as the main contractor with my crew and numerous subs. Job was done on schedule and within budget. C. I converted two apartment complexes into individual condos, adding a laundry room and second bedroom to each unit. I got all of the permits, licensing, et cetera. I was the supervisor for the contractor/owner of the project. I supervised my own crews and numerous other sub contractors. Job was done ahead of schedule and on budget. Units were luxury units and all sold in less than six months. D. I was the job supervisor building one of the largest Messianic churches in the United States in Calabasas, California. I worked with the crew and subs and obtained all permits and plans. E. I built a water filtration and juice store in Santa Barbara as the first for a chain of stores. This was a $250,000 project, completed in seven weeks and on budget. I did all of the high-tech filtration systems and built a dispensing wall for thirty different juices. F. I was the supervisor on a project converting 171 luxury apartments into Wyndham Timeshares. There was a crew of 48 to 75 people and two shifts. I did four sub contracted trades for the main contractor and owner with Wyndham Timeshares. This was my last commercial project done in 2007 in Mission Hills San Diego, California. G. I built three custom homes for the developer I worked with throughout the years and 27 more luxury homes over a 25-year period for this developer in Texas and California. H. I ran a make-ready, tenant improvement business with Apache Construction for numerous apartment and commercial properties and town home developments for the HOA. I ran this part of the business for five years in San Diego, California. I. I did hundreds of remodel jobs on homes and condos in Texas and California over a thirty-year period. Many of these were done in La Jolla, California. These remodels averaged from $150,000 to $500,000. J. Since 1987, I have had my own business and employees.
