Liz H. says, "I trained with Nat for a little over two months and lost approximately 10lbs and improved BMI. Although it does not appear to be much on the scale, I definitely lost inches on my waist and toned legs. Most of all, I gained confidence in working out! Before training with Nat I had not liften weights in a while, I mostly used my Peloton bike. Nat was extremely patient with me as I learned the forms of the workouts and with my uncoordinated self! I can’t recommend Nat enough, she is flexible, great communication, motivating, and will tailor the workouts to your needs! Nat knows just the right amount of motivation/push you need, but will not yell at you. It’s mostly laughter, but laughing with you. She never made me feel uncomfortable, she always made sure I was using the correct form, and did not miss a session. I can definitely notice my new strength! I am saddened that I may not be able to train with Nat since I will be moving out of the area soon, maybe online workouts 😁 In addition, I was never bored of the workouts, she kept the sessions diverse. I was pleasantly surprised because I get bored of the same workout routines. If you want a trainer that motivates you, tailors the workout sessions towards your needs, is patient, is flexible, doesn’t yell, but is strict, motivates you, and is overall fun than look no further!!"See more

Jacqueline M. says, "I used to work out and be very in shape, but I gained weight when I had my son and also foot surgery. I was out of shape and not motivated. The first session with Danny was an evaluation, then some lite working out to see how out of shape I was...it was bad. Danny didn't make me feel bad about my out of shape-ness...he just motivated me to get better. We did a couple sessions and I really felt it. But , after some more sessions I really felt better all together. It has made me feel like a new person. My friends have commented, my family, even at work...people tell me I look better. Danny is always on time and he is the best trainer I have ever had. ☆☆☆☆"See more

Nancy Welch says, "I have been a member of Svetness for over a year. As a woman in my 50's I was not interested in sweaty gyms or loud, high-paced classes at a rec center. Having a trainer come to my home has been an excellent experience. The process started with a free intake interview to determine my needs and match them to a trainer. I've had two excellent trainers. They are knowledgeable, supportive, and responsive to my need for adaptation due to physical challenges. They have been flexible and communicative about scheduling, and will bring equipment if you don't have any. I have also been very pleased with the company itself. They are responsive to questions and were flexible in allowing a temporary suspension for some physical therapy. This program has been effective and a good value for the money. I recommend Svetness Personal Training to anyone looking for individual attention or special needs from a professional trainer."See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much is a boot camp?

The cost of fitness boot camps depends on how often you go, the package you are purchasing (or if you are paying a drop-in fee), the location of the bootcamp, the equipment the instructors provide, and the background and reputation of the instructor. Smaller towns and areas with a lower cost of living typically have lower rates for boot camp services than big cities and regions with a higher cost of living. If you’re paying per class on a drop-in basis, expect to pay anywhere from $12 to $25 or more, depending on the region and the instructor. When you purchase a package of classes, typically the more you buy at one time, the cheaper each class is. The same boot camp class might be $20 for a drop-in student, $15 for a student who pays for 10 classes per month, and $10 for a student who pays for 30 classes a month. Studio space can also affect costs, so if your boot camp takes place in a high-end gym with top-of-the-line equipment, the prices will likely be higher than a class that meets in an outdoor space with limited or no equipment. Shop around to find the right type of boot camp class and the right instructor for you.

What is a boot camp class?

Fitness boot camps are a heart-pounding way to boost your fitness level. Boot camps are led by a fitness instructor and are based on the concept of military boot camps — intensive workout programs to get new recruits into shape, quickly. Fitness boot camps encourage camaraderie, and the group momentum helps participants get through fast-paced intervals of cardio, isometric training, strength training and endurance drills. Classes may range anywhere from 30 to 60 minutes, and usually meet multiple days per week. Boot camps often run a specific duration of time, say four to six weeks, which creates a team-like environment for class members. Other boot camps run year-round and students purchase package pricing for classes, similar to subscriptions that allow them a set amount of classes per week or per month.

Boot camps can be held indoors at a gym, outdoors in a park or on a beach, in a backyard — anywhere there’s room for running, jumping and sweating. Some instructors also provide DVD and online boot camps. You can also find boot camps tailored to your heart’s desire, such as bikini boot camp, or boot camps for new mothers. Boot camps offer an intense workout and are usually led by energetic instructors pushing you to do your best, but unlike military boot camp drill sergeants, fitness boot camp instructors typically don’t use intimidation or punishment to spur you on. Check with your doctor before starting a boot camp if you have health concerns, and always let your instructor know ahead of time if you have injuries.
