FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
It's not very complicated. Cash patients will pay $125 for initial visits and $80 for follow ups. I do take insurance and the co-pay will depend on what type of insurance you have.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Yes. We have state-mandated requirements for continuing education, but I typically enjoy doing much more than the minimum. I'll be a student of this medicine my whole life.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I herniated a disc in my lower back helping my mother lift a case of water into her car. After over a year of physical therapy and chiropractic care, I was sitting in front of a back surgeon. At 19 years old, I didn't want surgery... and neither did my doctor. He said 'try 6 sessions of acupuncture. if that doesn't work, we'll talk.' After 5 sessions, I was healed. I continued to use acupuncture for body maintenance during my 20s (I was a touring drummer at the time and really beat my body up on a nightly basis playing music.) When I hit 30 I decided to change up my life... and was guided toward Oriental Medicine school.
