Chef Steven and his team made us a fantastic meal, got the oohs and aahs from my parents (it was a 45th anniversary dinner for them) as well as younger crowd at the meal. In fact, we're still talking about the tomato tartare dish he came up with. The chef and his team handled passed appetizers, absolutely inventive and delicious cocktails, setup and cleanup all for a completely reasonable fee per person. They used our dishes/silverware/glassware but cleaned everything up and left the kitchen spotless. Multiple people from the dinner have asked for their contact info so they can book Chef Steven in the future. We wouldn't hesitate to book them for our next party.

I attended a 16 person dinner for which Steven was the private chef. Overall the food was phenomenal. Presentation and flavors were top notch. Additionally, the staff provided was excellent. Great evening overall, in no small part thanks to Steven.

I had a small party at home and was looking for a chef on Thumbtack. The chef initially I was looking for rejected due to time conflict. Steven (Segar) pitched to me and it was the most fabulous things it turned out for my party! He was easy to work with and provided great insights for what food was best to serve for my party given my budget and the time I needed the food. He responded my emails/texts promptly and arrived on time for food delivery. His food was all very yummy and my guests enjoyed it very much - which is all important things to achieve when you are a party host:) I will definitely recommend Steven to everyone to try! He is awesome and professional:)

I have had the pleasure of dining Segar LA 3 times. The first was at a private party and Chef Steven served us a tremendous Nicaraguan Chicken Tortilla soup, it was the finest I have ever had. The next time I hired the team to do appetizers for an event and it was a collection of chic and delicious treats each one cleverly plated and served with class. Finally a friend of mine had Steven and his team do a dinner party with multiple courses, as a guest I was once again blown away by the quality of fresh ingredients and tastes that I savored. I highly recommend them for any occasion they work with you to create an amazing dining experience that will wow you and your guests. I plan on using them for a holiday gathering before the years end. A true LA treasure!

Steven and his team gave my wife a wonderful birthday dinner for 14 people at a rental beach house in Malibu! The food was simply delicious and beautifully presented. Steven was easy to communicate with at every step of the process, and very patient with us as we went back and forth over the menu. He happily accommodated those of our guests who had special dietary restrictions, and everyone loved every single course! We had one tiny note for him at the end of the night and he promptly addressed it, very professional! We both (and several of our guests I think) look forward to working with Steven in the future!

- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I began my professional career cooking at fine dining Restaurant 1789 in Washington DC, focus on private engagements for heads of state (Clintons, Joe Biden and others,) celebrity guests (Paul McCartney, Queen Noor, Shia LeBouf, Anderson Cooper and others) and executive gatherings. I owned the food truck brand Eat Wonky and helped pioneer the Food Truck Association before moving to Naples FL to start my real estate firm and launch Naples' first ever Restaurant Week. Cultivating my diverse experiences, I am now operating Segar LA.
