I had my doubts about getting marriage counseling, but when I started going to Michelle she proved to me how helpful it really is. So much that I think every young couple needs coaching in order to avoid serious relationship issues in the future. With her loving sidekick/spouse helping out, it provides a male and female aspect of each situation that comes up. Overall, Michelle is a great, caring person that will provide you with positive energy, motivation, and useful resources for life (not just marriage counseling). Coaching or no coaching, it's always nice to be blessed with the presence of such a person in your lifetime.

I could write a complete memoir around my experience with Fawn. Before I get into it, I want to be very straightforward: Fawn: -Incredibly smart with huge range of knowledge in counseling and resources -Infinitely compassionate -Super easy to talk to and considerate of me -My biggest cheerleader (I'm talking up there next to my mom) -Worth every penny Me: (and you, future client!) -Stuck / Confused / Unhappy -Willing to be utterly honest with Fawn and myself -Open to making big and small lifestyle changes -Committed to spend as much reasonable time on coaching exercises and reading -(4 months later) Crazy in love with myself and so proud to have embarked on this journey to create my HELL YES life I liken my experience with Fawn to be, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear." (Buddha) I was in a really tough place in my life, feeling like I had no direction or even a compass to guide me. Fawn struck me with a phrase in her bio that said that she helps women who feel like they are stuck. I totally identified with that. I knew that something needed to change in my life. I originally reached out with the intent that it would be my career, but working with Fawn became so much more. With her guidance and support I have made incredible changes in my life, self-appreciation, discipline, relationships, spirituality, and happiness. We started unpacking the deepest of deep limiting beliefs that I had about myself. In no way would I describe this process as easy, but the payoff is oh so sweet. I have personal testimonies from the people around me (some of who don't know that I'm working with a coach) that recognize a change in my daily happiness. One of the MANY things I have loved about working with Fawn is her ability to zero in on what I need. She has incredible knowledge combined with a natural intuition of how to help her clients grow. Even if I didn't know what I would accomplish on a given call, it was her talent and expertise that helped me each step along the way. She introduced me to new methods of communication and taught me many exercises that I will continue to use whenever I am faced with challenging situations for the rest of my life. She also recommends great books :) Another area of note where I noticed a huge change in the course of my coaching with Fawn is my self-discipline. I was really struggling with accomplishing anything that felt like "work". (Outside of work.) I was a writer that hadn't written in years and through my personalized action items (or assignments) I began a very therapeutic return to my art. I also started creating a schedule and setting goals for myself. Over time, the result and accomplishment of doing the "work" totally outweighed the dread that hovers around procrastination. I was able to change a really bad habit that I specifically identified in the beginning of this journey. I have a remarkable amount of quantifiable self-improvement in my google docs that I am so proud of. I have to second another review I saw saying if "you're wondering whether or not to take the plunge..." DO IT. Your life is about to change.

Helped with Relationship Counseling. My girl friend and I were going through a difficult time. We heard from others about the benefit of choosing a life coach over a MFT or a Psychologist. Our problems were communication about here and now. We didn't want to have to spend so much time individually sitting in "couch therapy " with a psychologist. Patti gets right to the underline issues. Her experience in this field is second to none. Our relationship including that of our teenage children that each of us has from our previous marriages has gotten so much better. Everyone in our family has benefited from we call her " our life coach" She is so easy to talk to. My fear and anxiety trusting to talk to someone with our issues went away the moment we met her. Our relationship has never been better thanks to Patti

I started training with Sara during a fitness competition. She set me up a great nutrition plan and workout schedule that works around my hectic calendar. I had been fairly sedentary at the start, but every workout has me sweating hard and everyday I feel stronger. Within a week I already felt lighter on my feet. I look forward and expect amazing results at the end of the competition!

I came to Loocidity looking to improve my resume so I would get more traction with hiring managers. Instead of a quick glance and some brief recommendations for improvement, I got a coach who took the time to get to know me, my strengths and weaknesses, taught me how to cater a resume to a specific job, and guided me through every step of the interview process. The coaching methodology isn't quick, but it's thorough, straightforward, and priced to get the job done rather than to count the minutes on the clock.

Jay is a fantastic personal trainer who helped me achieve my goals. Jay is very professional and is inspirational with the amount of knowledge he has when it comes to nutrition and fitness. I hand learnt a lot. The training is always fun and upbeat. Thanks to Jays training I was able to shift all my baby weight (4 Stone), drop 3 dress sizes and feel fit and healthy again. I now have lots more energy to run around after my 6 month old baby girl. It's the best I have ever felt.

I was so centered, grounded, and optimistic about my future projects, professionally, and in my personal life, after my coaching session with Andy Bates. He simply got me to see something I had overlooked in my life, and once this was made clear, I was able to work on solving the issue. I can't overstate how important this coaching session was with Andy. His guidance made a real life impact on my future. Since this event, my life has been so much more focused and richer. First off let me say I was skeptical about finding a personal trainer after my last one didnt even know my name or any of my goals after training with him for six weeks. That being said, I am very happy with Tommy and the SoFit SoCal team! They are everything a trainer should be and more! Nick is my SoFit SoCal trainer but Tommy oversees all as well. I've already signed up for my next set of sessions and am really excited to continue training with Nick and Tommy. They've been so helpful and informative. Can't recommend them enough!

I started training with Aland about 6 months ago and walked in with the attitude of hating the gym, not knowing where to start or even if my goals were attainable. I'll say that within the first week of personal training, my whole attitude turned around and my view on working out and dreading the gym changed completely. Aland works with you and not only helps you work towards and achieving your initial goals, but adapts to the new ones you make for yourself as you progress. The results have been incredible physically, mentally, and even changed my diet to be much healthier than it had been. Thanks Aland!

Melissa is The Master of Habit Change!! She helped ME change my diet and exercise routine toward a healthier lifestyle. Melissa has been incredible from the beginning. My initial consultation with her was an eye opener on how unhealthy my habits were. She put together a 90 day program custom to my needs and held me accountable. Melissa pushed me when I needed to be pushed and she was there for me to lean on when I didn't think I could do it. Melissa is a GREAT coach! She was in my corner every step of the way. Thank you SO much!

Damon is a great trainer! Since working with him, I have lost over 40 lbs. and dropped 8 dress sizes. I am much stronger and more active than ever. Also, when I first started with Damon I suffered from back pain, which I no longer have as a result of his training. I've tried other trainers before, but none have provided the level of expertise, nutritional counseling, and motivation quite like Damon.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

    Why get a life coach?

People of all ages and in all careers have called in a life coach. Life coaches are accredited professionals who can help you figure out the tangible changes you can make in your life to reach your goals; they can even help you turn your dreams into goals, if you’re not sure where to go next. A life coach can also help people find their purpose in life. Life coaching clients often have an idea of what they want to do, such as help people or work with animals, but don’t know how to turn that passion into a career. A life coach can help clients work through the options to find a clear path with concrete steps that lead to an attainable goal. A life coach can also help clients make a major career change, such as starting a new business. Life coaches can help clients develop better habits that will make them more successful, acting as an accountability partner. Life coaches also often guide their clients through major transitions in life, such as a career change or other stressful situations that are made easier with guidance from a neutral third party.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
