FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every show is different so pricing does vary. What I would charge for a birthday party is different than what I would charge for a college event or corporate convention. I can make fees all-inclusive so I can arrange my own travel/hotel. I also can provide my own liability insurance.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When I book a show, I am in constant communication with the client because I am not just going there to do my material, I am going there to do their material. I pride myself on customizing my show to each specific audience so that I can create an unforgettable experience and make moments. The best shows are the ones where something sticks with the group long after the show has ended.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a BA from Tufts, does that count? I was fortunate to find some great jobs after college – NHL intern, youth running programmer for the New York Road Runners, but somewhere in between I took a NYU sports, marketing and entertainment seminar were during the final presentation I was surprisingly funny. The criteria of the presentation was abandoned and the professor just said get on the stage so I took a comedy class at The Comic Strip in NYC. I even took it twice and then coupled my NYRR day job with evening open mics and music nights. An exhausting double life, but extremely worth it. Experiencing audiences of all sizes, moods and showtimes was more than an adequate to get comfortable and settle in to who I am as a performer.
