FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
All pricing is based on industry standard for hire work. In the case of animation, we typically think in term of $/second. This can be influenced by how detailed you want he animation to be, the length of the project, how many characters, etc. For example, a two minute animation with one character in black and white with just simple lines would be $50/second or $6000. This is for a two minutes of full animation. A more complex project with multiple characters and complex backgrounds will go for more as more work is involved.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First: Work out exactly what's going to get done. Second: Sketch out a rough idea of the project in the form of thumbnails or storyboards. Third: Produce a rough pass of the approved thumbnails and produce a line drawing for Illustration or an animatic for animation. Fourth: Actual illustrating/animation starts when the rough pass is approved. Fifth: First round of edits when animation or illustration is complete. Six: Final approval is when the project is done.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors in Fine Art which covers graphic design and Illustration and a Masters in Industrial Design which covers Product Design, Illustration and Motion Graphics/Animation.
