I'm eager to share over 20 years of drumming experience with students of all ages. Learning an instrument is a fun, fulfilling challenge, and I ground my instruction in solid fundamentals without ever losing sight of the joy that comes from hitting things with sticks. Each student can expect to learn, grow, and improve in a manner tailored to his or her ability level and unique approach to the instrument. In addition to my own experience, I pass on the expertise I gained as a Drum Performance student at the world-renowned Musician's Institute, and my ongoing studies with master drum educator Bruce Becker. + Learn or improve hand and foot technique, and refine body mechanics -- eliminate or prevent bad habits. + Become musically literate. Learn to count, subdivide, read, and chart music. + Discover new grooves, fills, and chops. Challenge your independence, and apply polyrhythms. + Master technology: music apps, click tracks, sampling, and programming. Comfortable with almost any style! Learn the music YOU enjoy and want to play. Beginners and kids are welcome! I have extensive experience working with young drummers. In your home or at my Glassell Park studio.
