Sara C. says, "***EDIT: The manager Tom called me to discuss the service call. He was understanding and agreed that the tech did not handle the service call appropriately. He offered a full refund of the service call fee and said they should not have collected it. Very pleased with how this handled. *** We got a full sized deodorant stuck in our forced air heating duct. For $50 all they could tell us was that it was 'safe' to turn on the heating again because it wasn't an areosol can. They said if we wanted to retrieve it that it would be very expensive and complicated. We turned our heating on for the first time last night not knowing what to expect. Our entire house immediately began to smell of burning plastic and deodorant. The scent was overpowering and we turned the heater off again. We have a contractor friend looking at it right now and they said that it is now melted on to the fan. It's a huge mess. I wish I had known that was going to happen before we turned on the heater again. The smell alone wasn't safe. It was obviously burning plastic. This company was quick and easy to pay, but they did say the service call was free. We still had to pay $50 for them to tell us they couldn't help us."See more

Yessenia Diaz-Huerta says, "Best thing I ever did was run into So Cal Boys Heating & Air. From the minute I met George and Earvin - they made me feel at ease. They walked through my home and explained everything in ways I could understand. They answered all of my questions and not once did they make me feel uncomfortable asking. The work date was set up and everything went up in the 2 days. Andres and Greg installed everything and were very respectful of my home / family / pets. I love my new AC and heat pump. I am very happy with their commitment and dedication to their company. I am highly recommending them to family & friends."See more

Elyssa H. says, "We are incredibly impressed with Blueberry Air. We had a big project to complete-new AC, new duct work, new insulation, etc. From the moment we met Sammy, we knew we were in good hands. Having your AC unit break as we get into the hot summer months is extremely stressful, and they made our experience so much easier. We knew we could rely on them to get the project completed well and we were correct. They were on time every day, somehow managed to keep the noise to a minimum, left the house as clean as when they arrived and completed the work faster than what we expected. We’re so happy with their work and plan to use them for all HVAC needs going forward! Highly recommend!"See more

FAQs

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to replace air ducts in a house?

If your air ducts have been damaged, you’ll need to replace them. The national average air duct replacement cost is $150-$280, which may not include materials. Factors such as duct material, labor, location of ducts and linear feet of ductwork will all affect your final costs. Labor costs will vary based on how accessible the ducts are and what material your ducts are made of. The least expensive duct material is a flexible, non-metallic ducting that costs approximately $1-$2 per linear foot. Flexible aluminum is generally more expensive and stronger than non-metallic ducting. Stainless steel ducting is the strongest, the least flexible (meaning installing it typically has higher labor rates), and usually the most expensive. An average price for air duct replacement could range between $35 and $55 per linear foot, including basic materials and labor. A typical single-family home has 6-10 duct runs; replacing or installing one duct run could average $150-$250 for labor.
