No, I couldnt tolerate it so I called the best plumbers in town. They came with a bible and a wrench. Diego immediately diagnosed the problem. A cookooie had made a home in the pipes under my shower. Diego got his snake and snaked the cookooie out of the pipe then beat him to death with a wrench as he recited psalms 23:4. To call ritz great plumbers would be a massive understatement. They are demonslayers, keeping our plane of existence safe from the parasitic underworld."See more

Horrendous experience. I hired them despite their prices being double what other bids were ($781 to suspend a furnace; $130 per lb for coolant; etc.) because they promised to come on Monday to get the system fixed right away. They didn't show up until Thursday. They did not get the system working. The blower was installed improperly and would not shut off. They have been terrible to deal with. AVOID THIS COMPANY!!!!

November 2024 - initial review has been updated below. BEWARE!!! Very responsive. Work completed on day of call. Purchased the Williams Wall Furnace I requested and installed on day of. Threw in new thermostat with no additional charge. Cleaned up all debris. Very competitive price. Highly recommend if you need responsiveness. Dec 13, 2025 Update: Socal Gas did a routine safety check and said a shut-off valve was not installed ("Bypassed Spill Switch") ,so the heater would be unusable until one was installed. Alex said they changed the rules since it was installed November 23, 2024. I checked and on January 1, 2023, the current 2023 Los Angeles County Mechanical Code went into effect, adopting the 2022 California Mechanical Code (CMC). This code mandates that vented wall furnaces be "listed" and installed according to manufacturer specifications, which inherently require spill switches for draft-hood equipped units. Alex said he would address the issue on Wednesday, December 17th at 10am and didn't show up. I chased the next day on December 18th and he said his technician called but we had not received any call. On December 20th, he said he would send a technician soon and said all was good was installed. The system has not been touched since he installed it. Socal gas was called to check to light the pilot this winter. Alex failed to respond further.

He came out and gave us an estimate and even gave us a better deal when I inquired about another estimate I had received. He installed our new furnace and blower the next day! The company’s description in Thumbtack and on its website indicated that Home Upgrade Specialist, HUS, is more than simply a heating and air conditioning company. Our December 17 interview with the co-owner, reinforced that impression. First, we want to acknowledge that we are very pleased that HUS made good on its claim that installation of our central heating system would be completed before our house guests arrived on Christmas Day. The biggest problem is that there was very little consultation and poor communication. HUS never came to inspect the job or supervise the installers. After the system was installed the installers could not answer my questions about the use of the system, and they did not respond when asked for information that we would need for emergencies, and for submitting the warranty. The system blew out the electricity within two hours of using it. We looked for the circuit breaker, but there was none installed. We asked HUS to come to inspect and assess the situation. His installers came two days later, fixed the problem, and installed a circuit breaker. Two weeks have passed, the system works fine, however, one issue remains unresolved. HUS gave us a contract indicating the products and services rendered, and the total cost. When the installers came they told HUS that the outside entry door was too small for them to get the furnace into the attic and they would have to cut an access door in our hallway ceiling. HUS then told us that would add to the cost of the project. We agreed and asked to an up-dated contract. We never received the updated contract reflecting the additional cost for the access door to the ceiling. All we got was an email receipt indicating the total amount we paid along with the co-owner’s hand written notes reflecting the changes. We feel it is reasonable to have an accurate itemized invoice as well as a receipt. The system is working fine and that’s the bottom line. However, we would not recommend HUS to anyone because we value good communication, strong follow-up, and a caring professional relationship.
