- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard rate is $65 for a single one-hour lesson at the student's home, within a reasonable distance (20-25 minute drive from my house in Westwood). I offer a discounted rate for multiple lessons purchased: $220 per month for 4 one-hour lessons. For young children under age 10, I also offer 45 minute lessons at $200 per month (no single lessons).
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my students have been kids between the ages of 6 and 18, but I have had several adult students as well. I usually start by finding out what kind of music the student listens to, finding a song that can be arranged appropriately to their skill level, and using that as a vehicle to teach the musical concepts and skills for that lesson.
