I helped my son and his fiancée plan their Jan. 4th wedding while trying to stay in a budget. When we booked a relatively inexpensive venue at a local community center, we didn’t realize that we would have to do all of the set up and supply all of the decorations, linens, food, and drinks. It didn’t take long for me to realize that the day of the wedding would be a stressful, anxiety-filled experience for those of us trying to do all of the set up and coordinate the event.
I decided to look into hiring a wedding coordinator and found Sarah on Thumbtack. When I first spoke to her I found her to be very personable, accommodating, and professional. Her prices were also very reasonable. We also developed an immediate rapport as I am a teacher and she was a teacher before starting a new career.
We hired her as a “day of” coordinator. We met with her at her facility a couple of weeks before the wedding where she made many useful suggestions. She also drove through rush hour traffic to attend and oversee the rehearsal the day before the wedding. The day of the wedding we had approximately 150 guests. Vendors included a DJ, Photobooth, photographer, caterers, florist, and drapery hangers. Sarah had such a pleasant yet professional manner and made sure that everything ran smoothly.
There was a cocktail hour in the garden section where the ceremony took place that needed to be set up and then taken down when the reception began. Additionally, the gift table had to be relocated to indoors as well. She oversaw the schedule seamlessly, coordinating with the DJ to make announcements to keep everything running smoothly. She assisted with the cake cutting and even found a way to wrap up and box the top of the cake for the bride and groom to take home and freeze although I had forgotten to bring an appropriate container for it. She consulted me when necessary when any problems or questions arose and I was able to text her to communicate when necessary. She was able to independently handle most of the arrangements which freed me up to enjoy the wedding with very little stress. Many of our guests commented on how wonderful the wedding was and how well everything went. I don’t know how we could have pulled this off without Sarah. We were so blessed to have found her and she helped tremendously to make this very special event a beautiful memory that we will all treasure the rest of our lives.

Are you looking for an awesome Day-of coordinator for your wedding (or other big event)? Look no further, Sarah is the gal you want to hire! She helped set the tone for our wedding during rehearsal dinner by telling everyone that their job is to have the bride + groom not have to worry about anything so we can be present for the wedding day. And that is EXACTLY what happened! She took care of all the details and empowered the vendors and all those involved to do each of their respective jobs well and stay on track with such grace and effectiveness. Not only that, Sarah is quick on her feet, creative, resourceful and has a great eye for details and aesthetics. She made great suggestions to enhance the use of space with the decor available—creating a beautiful, inviting space. I highly recommend her for an enjoyable stress-free wedding!

Sarah is AMAZING. She absolutely is gifted and talented to help create your dream event! When I was planning my son’s first birthday, I didn’t know where to start! In korean tradition, the first birthday (dohl) is like a wedding! She helped me book, arrange, and coordinate the dessert vendor, entertainment, photographer, MC, and all decor. Sarah helped pull all of my thoughts out into reality. Her creative and artistic talents made our event unique and special. I wanted a Noah’s ark theme, in which there aren’t many pre-made decor that one can just buy at Party City or even Amazon. Sarah invested her whole heart into our event and hand painted a rainbow curtain backdrop, and made an ark out of a bed slat. She was creative to keep costs down too!! She is a pleasure to communicate with, and always clearly understood what I wanted. I didn’t have to worry about a thing! Thank you thank you Sarah!!!!

Can I give 1000000 stars? Because that's exactly what Sarah deserves. I found Sarah here on Thumbtack and I just felt like she was "the one" after a few email exchanges and a quick phone call. Boy were my guts correct! Sarah and I did a quick transfer call for all the vendors and the timeline of our party (a joint 40th birthday party) a few days prior to the event. After that Sarah reached out to everyone, confirmed time, location and provided her contact info. I knew then I could totally completely let go. Glad I did, because she's a lot more calm and cool under pressure than I am.
Our bar tender didn't show up, she worked that out, the said bar tender didn't know how to open wine bottles (don't ask!), Sarah was on that. She was present, on top of everything, kind and because she's SO good at what she does, several people at the party noticed and commented on how good she is too.
Towards the end of the night, we asked Sarah to stay longer and close up the party, thank goodness we added that extra layer, because we were in no shape to figure things out. :o)
As I told Sarah that night, she's forever tied to me for events from here on out. I suggest you also tie yourself to her as well because your events will go off without a hitch!
