Hi!
You might already have a pretty good idea of fitness and the concept of exercise...
Or perhaps, you are just starting out and not sure where to start...
Where can a personal trainer really make a difference? Could you not just watch YouTube videos and learn the exercises yourself? Or create your own workout programs?
Here's a perspective for you to think about: All exercises come with an inherent risk and return profile. Much like many other things in life. Do you think you have a great idea of each exercise's risk and return profile? How do you know that the exercise you are performing is among the best, in terms of efficiency?
What about other considerations... Maybe you have low back pain. Do you know what exercises load your lumbar spine and Erector Spinae, unnecessarily? You keep hearing Squats are a fundamental exercise, and that they could fix your back. Is that really true? Has that advice helped you? If not, do you know where the problem with that is?
And how about those nagging shoulder or elbow issues? Almost everyone that works out deals with those. Do you know the reason why? Could it be the shoulder press or the incline bench press that you were taught as must do exercises to build deltoids and the upper chest?
Let's talk. I won't just provide you with an off the shelf exercise program and have you exercise without even knowing what exactly it does. I will explain to you each exercise's mechanics, and give you alternative exercises that will build muscle in the most effective way. You will not understand the physics of each exercise but you will also learn how each exercise impacts other tissues, most importantly your precious spine. And we will keep having these informational session regularly as a part of your training.
