My personal experience with Matt has been entirely positive. He is super knowledgeable and explains everything from human anatomy to fitness technique in a very clear and understandable way. He is also very adaptable with training. On some incredibly tiring work days, he is able to accommodate the training that allows me to feel like I got a solid workout in without feeling completely dead. I would definitely recommend Matt to anyone who is looking to get back in shape or to further their fitness knowledge/performance.

Matt is a thoughtful and motivating coach. My first session, I was completely out of shape due to quarantine. He slowly worked with me to build workouts that challenged me. I feel so much more confident in my body as well as using equipment in the gym. I can’t recommend him enough!!

Matt Spencer is awesome! Matt believes in build/heal/train and his philosophy as a trainer is in the best interest of his clients. My name is Nancy and I have trained with Matt for the past two years. He has consulted with me, set up custom training and exercises for me —Even during the pandemic via FaceTime. I totally trust his thorough knowledge and understanding of training and form. During one of our FaceTime training sessions he asked me why my calves were so tight?...and if I’d been using my foam roller?... and I confessed I hadn’t been. The fact that he could visually tell over a video training that I had tight calves was crazy to me! He knows his stuff! For me to strengthen and heal some past knee and hip injuries; he created modified routines to strengthen and heal those areas first. I reached incremental goals progressing and strengthening my knee and hip - Then I could fully train. It made a huge difference for me in attaining my fitness goals. Matt is also very knowledgeable about nutrition. With his guidance I am now 93 lbs. lighter and more fit than I have ever been in my life. I highly recommend Matt as a trainer and fitness consultant. In addition to his training and exercise, he keeps me accountable and counsels with me. My fitness journey was/is a mental and physical journey and with Matt’s help and guidance - I did the work and have learned that I can do it and I will continue to do it. He is (as someone else said) “a hidden gem” and a caring human being.

I'm so glad I met Matt. I've had multiple personal trainers in the past, but he has been the most professional, thorough, knowledgable, and dependable trainer. He is completely in tune with you, your goals, your movements while you work with him. I can't recommend him enough if you want to achieve your fitness goals in a safe and effective way. I met Matt after I had back surgery due to an injury. I could barely walk due to nerve damage into the foot. I expressed to him my concerns. I had heard horror stories of repeat back surgeries from guys trying to get back in the gym and getting injured. He was very understanding and pointed out the necessary pace to start rebuilding better posture and form. At the same time, he built a strict nutritional plan for me. He checks in with you throughout the week and gives you enough stressors to keep you on track. In short, I have had amazing results. At the start, I could barely walk normally let alone pick up weights. In 4 months, I lost ~20 lbs and gained incredible amount of strength. Importantly, I was able to do this and improve my posture and mobility without any injuries and fully recover from my back surgery. I would not hesitate to recommend Matt to anyone with fitness goals, serious about health/physique, and needs a real professional. He is probably one of the best out there.

I've been training with Matt for several years now, and he does a great job catering and customizing to your fitness needs and situation. Over the years, Matt got me back up to strength post knee surgery, helped me maintain during a time when I was traveling a lot, and kept me in shape during the first several months of the pandemic when I had no gym equipment at home. To this day, he continues to encourage, motivate, and push me toward my fitness goals and keeps it all challenging and interesting.
