Introduction: I’m John. I’m the founder and lead trainer of YallFit. I’ve been a personal trainer in North East LA since 2015. In 2014, I was hospitalized due to a stress-related ulcer. I was underweight and very sick. Exercise quite literally saved my life and gave me sanity. I’m extremely passionate about what I do and my goal is always to help my clients feel the best they can in the skin they’re in, gain confidence, and enjoy a healthy life. Every individual has unique needs and goals and it’s my aim to help my clients on their journey to achieving those goals, while actually enjoying the process. Working out shouldn’t feel miserable. I firmly believe that kids understand how to have fun with exercise and my training style reflects getting back to that place when fitness was fun.

John is amazing!! He is very knowledgeable in the work he does and considerate of his client's needs. I've trained with John for a couple of years and loved every second of it. He challenges you while also making sure you're comfortable. He also introduced me to a new hobby of mine - boxing!!! Definitely recommend training with John if you're looking to achieve personal and fitness goals!

John is the best trainer! He’s affordable, flexible with time and location, comes up with innovative workouts, and makes exercise fun. I’ve hired numerous personal trainers over the years and John is the very best. He build workouts for me that are challenging but enjoyable (for me that involves boxing, jump rope, and obstacle courses) and I love that he focuses on improving my abilities but never pushes diets on me. He’s body positive and knows that strong doesn’t mean skinny. He’s truly a great guy and a super motivating trainer who encourages you to challenge your limits and always has a big smile on his face.

I am writing this review so any potential and future clients know what John has to offer. He came in as a recommendation from my daughter who worked with him at a gym.  She knew that I can be a very challenging client and immediately determined that John was the perfect person to train me.   John is a professional who designs a program that is aligned with your specific goal.  He comes in prepared and setup by the time I show up for our session.  He varies and switches exercises, and maximizes the use of the outdoors because of the pandemic.  I must say that I am never bored with the workout. He is open to feedback, likes to hear my experiences (such as compliments I receive as well as my reduced stress levels) and keeps me accountable with my dietary choices.  He does all these with a smile on his face.  Most importantly, no matter how much I “air my concerns” (i.e. whine), John stays on me and does not let me cut corners.  Nevertheless, he still manages to make the workout fun for me.

John is one the best trainers I’ve worked with. He customizes work outs based on your goals and capabilities. If you have an injury, he works to help you get stronger and always checks in to make sure you’re not in pain. John is conscientious about being on time and flexible when needed. He also makes sure you get a laugh or two in during your sessions with him! All-in-all, John is a great trainer to work with! He will certainly help you reach your goals!
