I am Colette von, owner and founder of She Hangs LA, which specializes in design layout, curation and Earthquake-safe art installation.
I do quality control checks of existing hardware and wiring, and replace any damaged or corroded hardware or wiring to ensure long-term safety and damage prevention, which most of my competitors tend to overlook. As an artist myself, I understand the personal and financial relationships we have with our pieces, especially those with sentimental value, and am dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of safety for the work and space it resides. ART CURATION, HANDLING, PREPARATION, HANGING, & INSTALLATION:
I have more than ten years of applicable experience in art handling, installation, layout design, curation, preparation, and production.
As lead contractor and owner of She Hangs LA, I provide installation services for galleries, museums, corporate clients, offices, and private residences- including those with special installation needs, such as non-wall damaging installations.
I curate and install monthly rotations in various establishments throughout Los Angeles and the surrounding area. Additionally, I provide curation and installation services to clients in their homes either as new residents to the space, to consult and install new acquisitions, or refresh a collection inside their home. I represent many artists, and can introduce clients to work reflecting their style or space design. If my artists don’t fit a space, I assist my clients in finding work that completes the look and feel of the room.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE:
As the HAUS Director and Curator at ONE ONE SIX TWO Gallery in Echo Park, I curated and installed every show, and hosted 40+ exhibitions and 25+ pop-ups which allowed me to present more than 800 individual (local to international) artists in under two years.
Since then, I have hung thousands of pieces ranging from loose-papers, canvases and frames to wooden panels, tapestries, mirrors, rugs, skateboards, neon signs, sculptures, shelving, projectors, records, and beyond. I have designed and installed mounts, shelving, and assembled numerous amounts of furniture as well. I have even installed a dismantled wooden headboard weighing over 85lbs. onto drywall, and strung up a motorcycle using 2 chain cables on support beams for an installation.
I love creative presentation, so not only can I hang your piece(s), I can consult with you in the best way to do so to include your personality and aesthetic in the process.
As a professional art handler, I have installed everything from technical grid frames to glass paintings in free-floating windows on a 20-ft ladder.

All installations are done with the utmost care in sterilization, sanitation, personal barriers, and distancing when necessary. Clients can hear specific details about our steps of safety in the client brief.

[TRAVEL FEE]
All installations are subject to a travel fee, based on distance and average travel times. Please be aware this is in addition to the hourly rate. Services can be completed with both hourly and per job quotes, which include basic installation materials and travel.
-Locations 30 miles or further are subject to a minimum $250 travel fee. Out-of-state travel is available.
