Introduction

I like to hear what you're interested in and generally want to work towards. However, I do know that sax, clarinet, or flute, as well as music theory can be daunting, and that you might have no clue what to work on/how to practice and get better For the people with a clear idea of what they want, I'm more than happy to tailor the material to your interests (coupled with my own material, practice advice). For the people who have no idea, all good, because I have plenty of material and practice regimen help to get your general musicianship at a high level, so you can play and learn anything you want. I tend to focus more on the jazz and classical route, as knowing these styles only opens you to whatever you want to play.

Matt is a fantastic teacher!! While the ins and outs of the saxophone is certainly the main focus, he approaches the horn (and music in general) in a very organic, musically centered way. Whether it be working on scales or playing Bach Cello Suites on the sax, everything is about making music and producing a beautiful sound on the saxophone. Matt is obviously invested in his students progressing. I can reach out to him whenever and know that I'll get useful life/music info. Thanks Matt!!!!!

Matt's a great teacher who inspires me to pick up the saxophone everyday. I've gone through a lot of teachers in my years playing and this is the most progress that I've seen thus far. Highly recommended if you're in the LA Area!

Matt is hands down the best teacher I’ve had. He genuinely cares about his students and adapts to everyone’s individual learning process. Online: $30/30mins $40/$40 mins $50/hour
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first lesson will be a general overview to see you where you're at/what you want to accomplish. We will be playing in that first lesson though.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
This will be 16th year playing the saxophone, and 14th playing the clarinet. Graduated with a BM in Saxophone Performance with a minor in Music Industry from USC Thornton School of Music, have played all over the world.
