I was extremely happy with her services and artwork. She arrived on time, had a professional appearance and was so attentive to the guests where she was kind enough to approach me during the party and make suggestions. My guests raved about her during the party and the next day as well. One guest called me to tell me how pleased she was because while she was shutting down her booth, my guest's daughter remembered that she wanted a tattoo. Denise was kind enough to reopen her case and do the tattoo for her. The kids and adults LOVED their tattoos. I highly recommend this professional!

All I can say Collette Nicole has everything I asked for. She can do amazing face painting, temporary tattoo, and even balloon twister for the kids. Kids were under control and never had to worry about them during the whole event. She's done a great job! We look forward to use her again next year! I'd recommend her to all of my friends and family. Thank you, Nicole!

Oriana is an amazing artist!!! We had her at our French themed birthday party in a park and she created 30 of those most amazing face designs I have ever seen. Almost every guest took her card and mentioned to me how amazing it was. Her actual work exceeded the pictures online!! She is also great with the kids, very patient and was early, set up her own area and completely independent. Can't recommend enough!

Kiddie Clown was hired to face paint and keep the kids engaged at my family’s 6th annual family reunion. Not only did they please the little ones, but they entertained the older ones as well. The adults were lining up for their “tattoos” as well. “Kids” from 2 - 94 took advantage of these special treat. Here’s a picture of my magical unicorn. I’m crossing my fingers that Kiddie Clown makes a repeat appearance at our 7th next year!

I threw a large 18th birthday pool party and Saubia was AMAZING! I cannot believe how many tatoos she completed. We had her for around 4 hours and she must have done 100+ tatoos. Her work was beautiful, detailed and really high quality! Everyone loved her and I'd book her again in a heartbeat.

Adam and OC Airbrush were great to work with. Adam responded quickly, kindly and efficiently. He was able to turn around our request in a number of days and even provided custom stencils and colors for our event. Adam and his team were great onsite, very professional and diligent. After our event he provided photos and was helpful with recap information. It was great to work with Adam and OC Airbrush, we look forward to working with them again!

She was hired for my daufhters 16th Birthday party and both of my daughters ages 13 & 16 said "she was amazing and went above and beyond their expection in her designs". Personally for me, she was very pleasant and she won't leave until every guest received a henna design. I would definitely recommend her and she provided the best price in my research.

Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How long does a henna tattoo stay on?

Typically a henna tattoo stays on anywhere from one to three weeks. Henna artists work with henna paste, also called mehndi, which dyes the skin for a short period of time. An important part of Indian culture, the use of henna has become increasingly popular in the United States, with henna artists providing henna tattoos for weddings, as event entertainment and for other special events. Henna artists typically apply their designs to the palms and backs of the hands, the wrists, up to the elbows, and from the feet up to the knees. To preserve the rich color of your henna tattoo and help it set, avoid water as much as possible within the first 24 hours of application. The color will be richest during the first week. Brides may want to have their henna tattoos applied one or two days before the wedding for optimal results.

What is the meaning behind henna tattoos?

Henna tattoos, as they are called in the United States, have a long tradition in Indian, African and Middle Eastern cultures. For centuries, the leaves of dried henna plants have been ground into a fine paste to be used as a temporary and nontoxic skin dye. This form of body decoration has been used in celebrations, weddings and ceremonial rites of passage in many cultures. Often in Hindu weddings, henna artists decorate the hands and feet of the bride (and at times the groom) with intricate designs. In some Muslim traditions, henna artists paint women with henna designs as they are in their final stages of pregnancy. In the United States, popular culture has adopted this beautiful body art and henna artists provide brides (and sometimes grooms) with temporary henna tattoos. Henna artists are also a popular choice for entertainment at corporate events, birthday parties, bachelorette parties and festivals. Henna artists may charge anywhere from $10 to $300 per hour.

How much does it cost to get a henna tattoo?

Nationally, the average cost to hire a henna artist is between $100 and $180 per hour. Rates will vary by location and the experience of the individual henna artist; it’s possible to find artists who charge less than $50 per hour. Some henna artists charge an hourly rate, especially for corporate events or festivals where they are providing service to multiple people within an hour. They may also charge flat rates for bridal and wedding services or special events. Here are some examples of average cost:

  • Hourly rate: $65-$85 or more per hour. Price is dependent on event size and number of attendees.
  • Starting rate for minimal palm designs: $15 or more.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands and wrist and bottom of feet up to the ankle: $175.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands to the mid-arm and feet to above the ankle: $300.
  • Henna tattoos covering the hands to the elbow and the feet to the knee: $450.
