Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I have been teaching music for over 5 years and playing violin for 21 years. Through my experience, I am able to provide a helpful outlet for students to reach their musical potential by allowing them to create a great foundation and passion to their playing. I teach all levels of violin through a traditional approach by incorporating scale books, etude books, and appropriate repertoire that pertains to the level of playing. I try to instill good habits and proper technique to present a clean and full sound. My students will be taught to analyze what it is they are playing instead of just playing the notes. A musician needs to hear the many complexities and pull the emotion out to the listener and to themselves. I always enjoy seeing the progress my students make and to see the passion building from within to make their playing shine.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    The standard rate for my lessons are: 30 minutes: $20 + $10 travel 45 minutes: $30 + $10 travel 60 minutes: $40 + $10 travel

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

If the student is totally new to the instrument, we go over basic information of the instrument itself and some music theory. I like to begin with Essential Elements and Suzuki book 1 and create an individualized route based on how the student progresses. If the student has already been playing the violin or viola, the first lesson is always an evaluation of what they have previously learned and their playing style (this usually tells me how the practice sessions go). From there, I create the individualized plan just as I do for the beginners. This will usually include scale books, etude books, and repertoire pieces based on skill level.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have been playing violin since a very young age. After high school, I attended Pasadena City College where my focus was on violin performance. From there I transferred to the University of Redlands and received both my Bachelors in Music and Masters in Music in Violin Performance.
