FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly taking class from other teachers and from friends. Even though I am now a teacher, the learning never stops. Stepping back onto my mat to take a class always inspires me for any of my own classes, whether it is a sequence I really enjoyed, or how they described getting into a pose, I am constantly making sure I stay open to new things. I like to try anything new and slowly work it into the classes I already teach, keeps things fresh & fun for me and my students!
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I moved out to Los Angeles from Boston, MA I was feeling a bit lost. I have been dancing since I was very little, so yoga came naturally to me, however it was never something I stuck with, until I found hot yoga. The studio I found introduced me to yoga sculpt and barre, challenging classes that still incorporated the stretch and flow of a yoga class. It was Hot Yoga that literally changed my life, and taught me a lot about myself, what I was struggling with, and what I needed to work on. I found something that I really connected to and with the practice it brought beautiful people, a healthy way of living, and a healthy body. Now, I would just like to share that vision with anyone who wants it.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently just finished developing a class for Firm Body Evolution in West Hollywood. They have whole body vibration machines, and they needed someone to come up with a class that would allow people to use the machines, but still get their sweat on. I combined barre techniques with some yoga and now we have a class titled "Yogavibe." I always love trying new things, and this is certainly something different, yet intriguing, hard, but relaxing. http://www.fbespa.com/holistic-health-services/boot-camp-classes-los-angeles/
