Introduction: My name is Makayla I am the Head chef and founder of Mindful Kitchen. I cater events that create an experience connecting people to their food and the people they care about most. I source all my ingredients from local farms in the Bay Area. Cooking meals from scratch with local, in-season ingredients is the basis of what Mindful Kitchen was created for. Very friendly and personal. Did in person cooking lesson , learned a lot and can definitely apply it to my everyday life. Highly recommend Makayla to friends and have already set up next cooking lesion with her. Very knowledgeable and talented.

I hosted some friends for a girls' weekend and Makayla prepared dinner for 5 of us on Saturday evening. The food was absolutely delicious. The courses were spaced perfectly so we could laugh and talk and drink wine. Everything was plated beautifully. There was a lot of variety and everything was prepared perfectly. She even cleaned the kitchen before leaving. It was so relaxing and delicious, and her personality was so sweet. Everyone asked for her contact info before the night was over.

Makayla provided an incredible service, her food was absolutely delicious and was made with the highest quality. I throughly enjoyed the Mediterranean salad that she made, as well as the handmade hummus bowl. Overall a great experience, highly recommend!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    My pricing starts at a base price of $40 per person. I then include the price of ingredients, 0.56 cents per mile of travel and a %20 deposit.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    What do you really want for your event? Make sure your budget matches your goals. I have an intake form for new customers to fill out in detail about what they are looking for and from there I can gauge how to be of service to you.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I recieved my certification to be a personal chef from IAP college and a food handlers license.
