Leah has amazing patience with kids and knows how to keep them engaged. Communication and planning are also excellent -- we get a personalized weekly summary and list of things to practice by email a few hours after the class, and quick responses to emails.Apr 18, 2019
As an older student, I really appreciate Leah’s patience and professionalism. She allows me to go at my own pace. I love learning piano theory and Leah does as well and with the workbooks that she has chosen she provides me with a significant education in music.May 8, 2019
I am in 6th grade and I go to Vibrant Valley Music School. I love it so much! My group is so nice, funny, and friendly! Leah is also so kind, funny, and such a great teacher!! We get a lot of work done in only 45 minutes, by warming up, practicing songs we already know, and learning new ones. I am really happy that if I don't understand something, I can ask and Leah will explain it really well in a way that I can understand. All in all, I, as a student, definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn piano, no matter their age!Apr 19, 2019
Avery absolutely loves taking piano lessons with Leah and looks forward to her lessons every week! She started taking lessons with her friend last year (duo lesson) and has learned so much since then. Leah's approach to teaching (think piano games, jelly bean prizes, stickers and much more) make the lessons fun and entertaining and keeps the girls interested and coming back for more. Leah is very helpful with any questions or issues we have and is always asking for our feedback on how to make lessons/recitals/practice etc. better. We highly recommend Leah and I can't wait for my younger daughter to start her lessons with her!Apr 16, 2019
Leah is a great piano/music teacher. My 6 year old loves the lessons and making a great progress. Her approach to teaching is very fun and well rounded. I wish I had her as a teacher when I was learning piano 40 years ago. :)May 16, 2019
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Tuition covers a weekly 45 minute class and all studio events. Tuition is billed monthly and covers all available teaching weeks in that month. During the 2018-2019 school year, tuition was $170/month. 2019-2020 tuition details will be available by August 2019 and will reflect the number of available teaching weeks from September-May. Materials are billed separately, as needed. We offer a $50 referral discount when you refer a new family to the studio, as well as a $50 sibling discount when you enroll multiple students from the same family.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? After our initial contact, we will discuss a new or existing class your student can join. Once we find an available class, you will be invited to attend a 3-week trial. Regular weekly lessons will continue after the trial.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work? From my beginnings as a young piano student, to a band-loving teenager, and eventually an accomplished choral singer, I have a diverse array of experiences that make me a savvy and passionate musician. I have always been a lifelong musician, but my enthusiasm for teaching was ignited by an Educational Psychology class I took in college. I love to study how people learn. I am devoted to tailoring my communication and teaching style to guide each learner to success. I am committed to my professional development, and I make sure to keep up with the latest research and teaching trends by regularly participating in online forums. I also attend several conferences each year to learn new techniques and make new connections with colleagues around the country and across the world.
