- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
[Updated August 2022] We begin with a brief, free interview to get acquainted, tour the studio, and discuss the program. Then, we proceed with a 3-week trial which is $165/student. Once the trial is complete, regular tuition is $200/month and includes a 50-minute class once a week during every available teaching week in the studio calendar. Tuition is the same regardless of the number of available teaching weeks in any given month. Additional materials are billed separately and as needed. All studio events are included in regular tuition. 1-on-1 private lessons are also available as a supplement for those students that desire a more personalized experience, such as pursuing an individual project. Private lessons are only offered in addition to group lessons, not as an alternative. Each 20 minute private lesson is $30, and adjacent spots may be booked for a longer lesson. These spots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. We also offer a $50 referral discount when you refer a new family to the studio.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To get started, first fill out the Sign-Up form on our website. This will immediately add you to the waiting list, and you will be contacted to schedule a brief, free interview. Following the interview, you may be invited to join a 3-week trial if there is an appropriate class available. The trial is meant to help establish new classes and make sure everything is a good fit before committing to ongoing lessons. Once the trial is complete, you will have the opportunity to continue regular lessons, or perhaps try a different class that may better suit your needs. Once the trial is complete, you will have the opportunity to continue regular lessons.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
From my beginnings as a young piano student, to a band-loving teenager, and eventually an accomplished choral singer, I have a diverse array of experiences that make me a savvy and passionate musician. I have always been a lifelong musician, but my enthusiasm for teaching was ignited by an Educational Psychology class I took in college. I love to study how people learn. I am devoted to tailoring my communication and teaching style to guide each learner to success. I am committed to my professional development, and I make sure to keep up with the latest research and teaching trends by regularly participating in online forums. I also attend several conferences each year to learn new techniques and make new connections with colleagues around the country and across the world.
