I hired EVM Clean & Finish for a deep cleaning and unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. After inspecting the home, I couldn’t believe how many areas were clearly untouched. There was visible dust throughout, toothpaste stains still left on the bathroom sink, dirt still in the bathtub, dirty and smeared mirrors, missed corners, and even the underside of the toilet seat had not been cleaned. The bathroom floors were somehow dirtier afterward and partially covered with the bath rug. The sofa was left with lint and crumbs, and two forks left on the sink were placed on a drying mat without even being washed- they still had food residue on them and the sponge was completely dry. What’s most frustrating is that the home was not heavily dirty to begin with, it mainly needed detailed cleaning after recent work left dust behind. I specifically requested and paid for a deep clean, but what I received felt like a rushed wipe down, and not even a thorough one at that. I’ve genuinely had far better results from standard cleanings. The company did offer to send someone back to re-clean, which I can appreciate, but I didn’t have the time to go through the process again and ultimately had to hire someone else to clean the home properly. I debated leaving this review because I truly try to support small businesses, but this experience was unacceptable. As I continued walking through the house, I kept finding more things that had been missed. I would strongly suggest looking elsewhere if you are expecting a true deep clean and attention to detail.

I ordered a deep clean, but the service was extremely minimal and did not match what was advertised. The deep clean checklist included things like organizing loose items, cleaning under furniture, inside and outside of the microwave, and baseboards. However, when I asked the cleaners about those items, I was repeatedly told they were “add on.” The entire experience was exhausting. There were constant phone calls during the appointment, and I was repeatedly asked to stop and check what they were doing. Instead of feeling relief from hiring a cleaning service, I felt like I had to supervise the whole job. I was also told they would not pick up loose items, which meant I spent part of my morning cleaning and organizing my kids’ room myself, even though that was one of the reasons I hired help in the first place. Putting things into buckets or basic tidying did not seem unreasonable, especially for a deep clean. There was also confusion because the cleaners kept referring to someone named Valerie, whom I had never spoken to, and saying that what mattered was what Valerie said because she was the owner. That added to the frustration and miscommunication. To be fair, the cleaners were nice, and the company did comp the service, which I appreciated. But overall, the experience was stressful, disappointing, and far below what I expected.

Just to clarify the cleaners only were asking you to check a room after they were done cleaning to make sure you were happy, seeing as there were kids in the home, not to make you feel like you were supervising. We’ve appreciated the opportunity to speak with you yesterday and offered to send a cleaner back out the same day or another date/time that worked for you, to make things right. When that wasn’t feasible, we ultimately comp’d the service. We stand behind our satisfaction guarantee and always do our best to resolve concerns fairly. While we regret that we weren’t able to turn this around for you, we honored our commitment and did everything in our power to make it right. If you ever decide to give us another shot in the future, we’d be more than happy to show you the level of service we’re known for.
