I recently hired Toby for lessons in composition and to help me gain more agility and greater finger dexterity. I played piano for 5 years as a child, but stopped in high school because I became too busy. I also wanted to start writing my own music. I have lyrics, but I don't know how to put them to music. Toby has been working with my daughter who started piano lessons 3 years ago. My daughter had some interest in playing, but had a hard time getting motivated to practice. Toby got her back on track and excited about practicing. She is unique in allowing her intermediate students to play with her band which plays originals, including her own which are a mix of classical and rock. Toby has had an amazing influence on my daughter who went from not knowing how to play to playing intermediate pieces with a wonderful tone, dynamics, and dexterity. She is currently working on a some Chopin (Toby is most skilled in the Romantic era pieces such as Chopin and Rachmaninoff) and the Mozart Turkish March sonata. My daughter has also learned how to write songs and compose music to match them. Toby studied at Berklee which is well-known as the premier school for songwriting and composition, and it shows in her teaching. I am so excited to have an opportunity to work with her. She is a fantastic teacher and her original music is gorgeous and inspirational.

Thomas is a wonderful music teacher! He makes the lessons fun for the kids, and teaches in a style I wish I had learned when I was young. He teaches them the traditional notes, etc. but also teaches ear training, music theory, and rhythm (sometimes with drums). He's a great teacher for the entire family, for new students, and for experienced students. He has been teaching our family for the past year and we are so thankful we found him!

Holly responded quickly to all of my questions about piano lessons, her background, schedule, etc. She was more than willing to give me references from other families that have children taking lessons from her. My daughter is a beginner. We have been taking lessons with Holly for a month now and my daughter enjoys working with her and seems to be picking up the skills.

Brian teaches piano, music theory, and composition to our son. Our son starting working with Brian about ten years ago at age seven and worked with him for several years until Brian went away to go to graduate school. He began working with Brian again this year. Brian has been instrumental in helping our son become a fine musician and is helping him to find his voice as a composer. Brian has a wealth of knowledge music history and music theory. He suggests pieces to listen to and has interesting stories about the composers. It has been inspiring to our son to see Brian in performance playing his own compositions. Most importantly, Brian has shared his love of music with Jimmy and it's contagious.

She's an excellent pianist and she knows her stuff and that's what I was looking for. I've been playing for a long time and I tried to go it on my own but that was not a good idea. I really needed a guide and she fills the shoes.

IMO, Localmasters is an excellent choice for kids and beginners. I hired a piano instructor for my 9 year old girl. the trainer is very kid-friendly. my daughter is very comfortable with him and she actually looks forward to the sessions every week. We don't have to travel. He comes to my place to teach piano. - my schedule, my place. The best thing about localmasters is that they don't charge you if you are not completely happy with the first session. though they take monthly charges upfront which is why I was a little hesitant at first. but then, all is well that goes well. My daughter is happy. So am I. Great service team and the instructor there, Localmasters! Thanks.

Students have fun learning with Stan. He is still a kid at heart, and remembers how intimidating some teachers could be. He strives to make it a pleasure for students to grasp musical concepts, and learn to play fun music. He has been a professional musician, pianist / keyboardist for over 40 years, and spent the past 30 years playing the Nevada casino showrooms, and teaching. He has now relocated to San Jose, and is accepting new students.
