I've had 3 one hour lesdons with Denis so far. He's been very patient with my slowness since I'm a beginner and can't really read music. He's been very creative in teaching me how to read music and showing me how to move my fingers on the strings. He's very knowledgeable when I ask about the historic guitarists such as Francisco Tarrega and Andre Segovia and many others that I like. Denis is a great teacher and I've signed my 21 year old son up with him to learn to read music and play classical, acoustic and electric styles. He's had many years of experience with all ages. I highly recommend him to all my friends and family, adults and children that maybe interested in learning music! Guitar is the way to go because you can carry it with you wherever you go! :-))Dec 17, 2014Verified
Gave good pointers and went through basic stum patterns and chords. Easy to talk with and doesn't just answer your question, he shows the example on the guitar as well. Very good first lesson.Sep 11, 2019Verified
Denis taught guitar lessons to two of my sons (10 and 8-year old at the time). My sons said he was the best guitar teacher they ever had. Denis connects to children immediately and is amazing at passing his music knowledge. Highly recommend!Mar 26, 2019
Denis has been amazing! He has been giving lessons to our two boys and it always on time, great communicator, and the boys have even been practicing on their own because they are starting to love Guitar thanks to Denis! Highly recommend hiring him!!Mar 21, 2019Verified
Great teacher with patience and support with student’s learning speed. He’s very knowledgeable in various classical pieces that I inquire about. I’ve recommended him to many of my friends for lessons and parties. :-))Jul 8, 2018Verified
- How did you get started doing this type of work?Guitar is something I've always loved to do and teaching one of the best ways to interact with it. My university professor from San Jose State landed me a job teaching at some local schools after graduation and I haven't stopped since. I teach mostly private now and really enjoy it.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Be patient in finding the right instructor. Chemistry is just as important as ability in most cases. Always find the best fit according to your personality and skill levels.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?Teaching guitar takes patience and a touch of lighthearted goofiness as well. Balancing a serious approach with a sense of humor is important in any form of teaching.
