Introduction: Hello, my name is Nate, chef, and Co-owner of Gold Coast Chefs, formerly Omotenashi. We rebranded to offer more versatility of service. We still provide stress-free high-end sushi and Omakase-style five or 6-course tasting menus. In addition, We now offer simple, elegant 4-course dinners in various cuisines. To make our planning easy and seamless, just set up for our consultation using our calendly link; once you have approved all the details and your event day comes, you can be at ease knowing that We will do all the shopping, set up, cooking, serving, and cleaning. I never thought I could have such exquisite, “fine dining” food made in my own kitchen! If I could give them a Michelin star, I would!! Details: I hired them to prepare a tasting menu at our home for our anniversary. They showed up with place settings, nicely printed menus of 6 courses with our names and anniversary on it, a Sake pairing (a gift from them), their own kitchen cookware, flatware, and serving dishes. And when they left they, it was like they were never here!! Actually my kitchen was cleaner than when they arrived! The food portions for nice too! I’m a big eater and even I was content. My wife we ready to tap out by course 4 but powered on she didn’t want to miss what was coming next. I could go on and on. You just NEED to hire them in you want an UNFORGETTABLE experience! Trust me your palate will thank you!

Chef Nate was unbelievable! He came and hosted a very fun sushi making lesson for our party of 12 which was amazing. He also cooked up delicious appetizers for cocktail hour (both hot and cold) and then an unending sushi dinner. I am not kidding. All 12 guests went back for seconds, some thirds, and we still had leftovers. The fish was super high quality. He and his wife Jackie were very professional, showed up early and left our house sparkling clean. All of our specific requests were met perfectly. I will definitely use him for our next event. An added note, this all took place outside, which was even more impressive.

Nathaniel was amazing! He was extremely accommodating, friendly, and professional! From start to finish, the entire experience was personal and delicious. We were so happy to find him for a birthday dinner we were throwing. Everything was taken care of by him from set up to cleaning up. The food was better than any restaurant we could have chosen in the area! Can’t recommend him enough!!

Stop everything you're doing right now, even stop reading this review, and BOOK NATE & JACKIE FROM OMOTENASHI FOR YOUR NEXT EVENT!!!! I reached out to several private chefs for my 30th birthday party and was honestly met with some unfriendly and rude chefs as well as astronomical quotes for inflexible menus. Nate, on the other hand, was incredibly kind, professional, and more than willing to accommodate my budget & favorite foods. He created a 4-course menu especially for me and each *clap* dish *clap* did *clap* not *clap* disappoint. One of my guests even asked if they were Michelin star rated, kid you not. If you want delicious Asian fusion food and a stress-free professional experience, Nate can provide & more. Check out my photos of his dishes as proof. Nate & Jackie brought their own fancy dish-ware, table settings, and, get this, even cleaned up afterwards. My apartment complex manager said he couldn't even tell there was an event after we left because it was left so clean. My one complaint is that I couldn't take him home with me to cook for us everyday. In all seriousness, Omotenashi's the real deal.

Omotenashi did an amazing job with our wedding. We had an outdoor meal in a space with no kitchen equipment, and day of the event we had to change some of the equipment. It didn’t phase Nate at all, and he was still able to turn out an incredible meal. Four hors d’ouevres, sushi, sashimi, nigiri, and an incredible teriyaki beef - he even handled substitutions for dietary restrictions. The food was beautifully plated and absolutely delicious. During dinner guests were all commenting how good the food was, and the next day two separate guests called me to tell me it was some of the best Japanese they had ever had. Overall Nate is a world class chef producing a one of a kind experience. This was one of the better meals I’ve ever eaten, and I’ll remember it for a long time to come.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    An attendant of Art Institute San Diego,, Mission Valley.. I found that the best parts of my training actually happened in great establishments. School set the foundation, but who I am was built from places such as Morimoto Napa, Bottega, Saison SF, Atelier Crenn and a few more. I've had the incredible and humbling experiences working under exceptional chefs.
