We're very happy with the work that DeNoise Studio did for our wedding. We decided at the very last minute (like two weeks beforehand) that we wanted video of the ceremony, and once we found Albert, he hit the ground running. His promptness and efficiency came through not just during the planning process but after the wedding itself, as the turn-around on producing the video was only a few days! And the video turned out exactly the way we wanted: a very simple and beautiful portrait of a wonderful hour of our lives. Thanks so much, DeNoise!
We hired Nabor for my son's senior picture photo shoot. He was extremely personable and professional throughout the session. He had an excellent eye for outfits, poses, and lighting that translated into so many proofs that I'm still struggling to choose between them 5 days later! I would highly recommend Nabor for a portrait or headshot session - update your LinkedIn profile today with a professional portrait!
What a great choice we made hiring Thomas! We had 100+ people that all wanted individual family portraits and only 1 hour to do it all. Not only did Thomas get every picture we requested, he had time left over for fun pics. Very easy going and non-intrusive. Definitely going to hire him again for our next goat-roping!!
We just did our family portrait with Sheila. She is amazing!!! She were at location on time and with a happy spirit. She captured beautiful images. We definitely will do business again. I highly recommend her.
I recently moved to California from Toronto, Ontario. My fiancee (now husband) is native Californian so I moved here to be with him. I arrived in May and we set a wedding date for August. For me it was going to be a big challenge moving from one city to another and having to plan a wedding. I found the website thumbtack.com, and this is where I found Martino. After reading all of his reviews, and looking at his work on his website, I decided to give him a call. Martino called me back immediately and was very friendly and professional. At first I just wanted his services for 2 hours, and after thinking about it, I decided that I wanted to hire him for 4 hours. I felt that Marino was EXTREMELY flexible in extending the time frame AND his price was phenomenal. I did a lot of research on photographers in the Bay area, and we almost decided not to hire a photographer. While I was on the phone with Martino, we dicussed what kinds of photos I wanted. (Portrait, candid, etc etc) and he was so accommodating because there were a few shots that I was ADIMATE on him taking (when my husband saw me for the first time in my dress, cake cutting) and he was assuring me that he would take these photos. (By the way, they he stayed true to his word and gave me all the photos that I asked him for and they are just beautiful). On the day of the wedding, he was on the ball. He was there right when he said he would be. He was extremely friendly and really got to know and talk to all of my guests. (I had a small wedding with 45 people) I got married at the Cliff House in San Francisco so having pictures with the ocean was the most important. Although it was EXTREMELY windy, Martino worked some Beautiful photography magic and the photos came out better than I could possibly imagine. The finished product were just beautiful and I Thank you Martino for all of your hard work on our wedding. Now we can re-live the day over with all of your beautiful photos.
Andrea did an incredible job photographing my 3-day business seminar called PleasureCEO Live! She worked well within the setting, and managed to capture some precious moments that I can now use well in my marketing materials. I myself am a professional portrait photographer so my standards are quite high, and I highly recommend Andrea for your events!
I highly recommend Patrick Power! I needed a professional portrait for a legal job application, and I hadn't had one taken in over 20 years. I wanted it to be professional, but also unique. I wasn't sure how to find a photographer, so I just put out a bid on thumbtack. Patrick responded very quickly and with a very reasonable price. I had resigned myself to just getting a studio portrait with a neutral background, but Patrick had the idea of meeting at City Hall to take the photo. I was very nervous and self-conscious about the process. I don't like having my picture taken and I am not very photogenic. It helped that City Hall was full of other photographers taking pictures of brides, grooms, and other people like me, so I didn't really stand out. I had a problem and ended up being pretty late to our meeting, but Patrick was very nice about it. I was sweating like crazy in my suit, but he did a good job of putting me at ease and letting me rest and cool down for a little bit white while he staked out spots to take the photo. He talked with me casually about what I was looking for in the photo, but we also made small talk about our lives and work, so that soon I felt very comfortable with him. As a result, I looked very natural in the photo. Patrick took a lot of shots, and several of them were quite good. I needed the work done on very short notice, including a print. I made the bid on a Sunday, we did the photo shoot on Monday, and I had the print by Tuesday morning. I love the photo, and my family and friends do too. Everyone agreed that not just my appearance, but also my personality comes through in the photo. I will definitely call Patrick again if I need another photo taken in the future!
I was in need of an updated portrait photo for use in my marketing materials. I scheduled a session with Jennifer and I'm so thrilled with the photos she took. She just has that gift of capturing you at your best. She provided me with my photos very quickly. I will definitely contact her for my future photography needs.
Eric produced a very professional looking portrait photograph for me. He took the time to understand what I was looking for and was meticulous in adjusting the lighting and the angle to get the right shot. I appreciated his attention to detail, responsiveness, and prompt delivery. Thanks, Eric!
If you’re reading this to find out more about Oaktown Boudoir... STOP! Just email Chesire and DO IT! I wanted to make a boudoir book for my fiancé as a wedding day gift. I started my search initially through Groupon which then led me to Yelp and finally Oaktown Boudoir. I emailed and Chesire quickly responded. He was extremely helpful in answering all my questions and helping me set up an appointment to meet and plan for the photo shot. Please don’t mistaken his quick response as a pressure to do business but rather his enthusiasm (not once did I feel pressured). He offered exactly what I had envision for the gift (a small fold out accordion book to be given on the wedding day). We quickly clicked and planning was absolutely a breeze. Don’t be fooled by the studio and it’s “small appearance” from the outside. Inside is amazing. The studio has many different rooms and Chesire is able to recreate any backdrop you envision. I looked to his Instagram page to provide samples of what I wanted. During our initial meet we planned out the different pictures I would like to have taken and discusses timing to utilize natural lighting as much as possible. Now for the actual day...I was so nervous. It’s not everyday I’m taking photos in lingerie, let alone in front of strangers. Hair and Make Up was completed by his Artist Thuy. They have been working together and you can tell by the chemistry they have. She worked on my hair and make up and was a complete sweet heart. She was absolutely so sweet. Completed my make up and made me feel simply amazing. To calm my nerves he has an array of beverages and the bubbly. Oh wait did I mention a cheese, crackers and fruit platter?!?!?! Music was playing while we got ready. He ever contacted me before to inquire about my music taste so he could make a personalized playlist for the photo shot. The photo shot was amazing. Thuy stayed and helped with my hair and make up in between photos to ensure I looked amazing. We shot for several hours but only because Chesire wanted to complete and be able to take all the pictures I wanted. If you’re wondering about the extra time and if I had to pay extra...he didn’t charge me. He wanted to make sure he got all the photos and I would be happy (I just made sure I included a tip to make up for some of the time) The pictures came back rather quickly and boy were they amazing!!! He not only captured my natural bubbly self but also captured this seductive-lip-biting-bra off side I didn’t even know I had!!! When it came down to picking out the photos for the book...it was so hard because we had sooo many good photos but Chesire definitely took the time to help me pick out the photos and was extremely patience with all my corrections and edits. We probably made about 10 different drafts before we settled on a final book. If you’re wondering what my fiancé thought of the book...some things are better left as a secret ;)
Ilja was tasked with producing an introduction video for my startup. He broke down the steps involved in producing a video for me. Once I gave him a preliminary script, he structured it in the proper production format, and patiently revised it with me, till we got it to an acceptable length, without losing any important details. He found the most suitable voice-over artist to record the script. The video was put together very professionally after that he was accommodative in receiving feedback, several times, and diligently worked on incorporating it each time, till an excellent video was produced I am very happy with the final result!
Tri was exceptionally easy to work with, talented, and generous with his time, both in shooting and in retouching. I was looking for a mix of headshots/portraits: something professional, something fun, something that would display youthful charm and something that would display maturity without being stiff. I got exactly what I was looking for, and Tri even encouraged my dad to join in and took some great father/son shots. I am doing a variety of media appearances and speaking engagements, and I feel like I have enough of a variety to choose a portrait that would work for any different kind of engagement, as well as for my social media accounts. I would highly recommend Tri to anyone looking for an incredible portrait from a photographer that will really take the time to get to know you and deliver photos that capture your personality and essence.
Dennis was wonderful to work with! A real artist. He went above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend him to anyone seeking a great photographer in the Bay Area.
Julie is an outstanding portrait photographer, I felt very comfortable with her during my photo shoot. She has a great eye for details, photo shoot locations and knows all the technicalities. She was also available to answer my questions prior to the shoot and accommodate my wishes. I was very satisfied with my headshots.
Larry gave us a great deal on portraits for the new hires in our office. He was quick to respond and got our pictures back to us in a flash
It was pleasant to work with Photographer Nico Garibay. He listened carefully to produce photos that captured the spirit I wanted to show in my outdoor portraits.
We hired Rich Jarvis to take senior portraits of my son after a couple of failed attempts by the schools choice. This very special time needed to be captured and remembered. He did a phenomenal job! Not only did he choose a great setting but he worked with my son on multiple clothing changes and props. The hardest part will be choosing which ones to display as each and every photos is amazing! He Was personable, professional, and made sure to get exactly what we wanted. From now on he is the only photographer for our family!
Ivan was great! In a one hour session I learned so much about lighting and portrait photography. Excited to continue working with him!
I first contacted nick because I wanted headshots. With nick, I got exactly what I asked for and then some. I trust nick’s artistic ability and his creative eye and he brought that table which I appreciate. With headshots, it’s important that the person is comfortable. He’s an easy going guy and a true artist and I’d always bring up his name when the subject of headshots come up. I’m sure I’ll go to him again when I need new ones.
I'm ecstatic to have found this gem of a photography studio to work alongside other great photographers that are putting out amazing work. BLACKBOX literally offers the space and everything a photographer and artist needs to create high quality work. The high vaulted ceilings allow for elevated lighting and the location is perfectly located in the eastbay. 5 stars for my new favorite studio.
Michelle is the utmost professional, in every sense of the word. She did a fantastic job shooting portraits for my teenage daughter (upcoming graduation) - not only did she connected right away, she made her feel comfortable in her skin. She suggested a few spots for us to shoot, reference time of day for best lighting. She made the session feel and look effortless as well. I truly appreciated her timeliness and attention to detail, which are clearly reflected on the quality of the pictures and quickness of getting proofs. Thanks again, Michelle!
