Introduction: I'm taking a break from touring as the lead-guitar player in my old Band Panic Is Perfect, who's biggest song reached 6 million plays on Spotify. If you're looking to learn how to write songs, solo in front of audiences big and small, and have fun on stage while doing it, write to me. If our schedules line up, I'm currently taking on new students. Jeremy (The song-writer of Go Go Go) and I put together systems to teach you any or all of the 4 branches of music:
Ear-Training: If you've ever wanted to learn songs you love by ear, or be able to play the ideas that are in your head, this is for you. Singing intervals and identifying them (by memorizing a few songs) when you hear them is the pathway for success.
Melody-Writing / Soloing: Develop some tools for the job. Here, the secret is harmony. We'll learn how to switch along with the chords while having your own ideas based on arpeggios, pentatonic scales, major and minor blues scales and your own inventions!
Repertoire (Learning Songs): I've made 6 levels of guitar songs from beginning to advanced. I've written many of these TABs myself so I know they're accurate. I'm also happy to learn from TABs you've found online, and help you through any rough patches.
Sight-Reading (Reading Music): Are you interested in reading standard notation on guitar? If so, it's an amazing journey that starts with learning to keep your eyes on the page, and developing spacial awareness, playing some simple things without looking! The world of written music is nearly infinite, with so many cultures, time-periods, and genres to explore!
Or if that all sounds too overwhelming, I can just show you the basic fundamentals of music to get you going!!
