- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Like anything else, you definitely get what you pay for with guitar lessons. There are lots of teachers with very low rates, but most of them are not very good teachers. Nothing is worse than a bad teacher--they make people not want to play guitar or they teach them how to play it badly. I've corrected lots of bad technique in my students that they'd learned from previous "teachers" who obviously weren't very good players themselves. I've been playing for 23 years and I've taught for 8 years. When I was learning to play I took lessons from several different types of teachers over 9 years and I have a very solid grasp on proper technique, theory, and the best way to get students to improve in their playing.
