Lisa is a skilled organizer with a no-nonsense approach and effective strategies for optimizing your space. She offers creative suggestions to maximize functionality and is willing to handle ordering items for her clients, conveniently including those charges on the invoice.
I initially reached out to Lisa via Thumbtack, providing photos of my space and explaining my goals. She gave me a cost estimate based on the photos but later admitted they were blurry and hard to assess. Unfortunately, she didn’t communicate this uncertainty upfront, and while she worked within her original estimate, the project wasn’t completed due to the underestimated scope. This lack of clarity was disappointing and could have been avoided with better communication.
I also feel Lisa could improve her business etiquette. For example, her agreement includes a one-week follow-up period after project completion, though I’ve never utilized this service. On a subsequent project, I noticed an additional 15-minute charge on my bill, which I questioned. Lisa explained that her timing was based on GPS records, but I recall she arrived late and had to move her car before starting. While I don’t usually scrutinize such details, I would have preferred that Lisa acknowledged the discrepancy instead of justifying it by referencing unpaid work she includes as part of her services, such as shopping for supplies or dropping off donations. If these extras are billable, they should be itemized rather than presented as complimentary and later used as a justification for time discrepancies. To her credit, she ultimately removed the charge, but it was marked as a “discount” rather than a correction, which felt dismissive.
Regarding donations, Lisa initially explained that items would go to a general charity, but I later learned they were donated to her son’s school. While I wholeheartedly support schools, I would have appreciated transparency about where the donations were going. For example, I gifted her some dog treats after the loss of my pet, not realizing I could have directed them to a shelter, as I typically do. Transparency would have made me feel more included in the process, particularly since Lisa framed the donation service as a favor to me, while it simultaneously benefited her family.
Despite these concerns, Lisa is friendly, adaptable, and genuinely cares about her clients. Her organizational skills are impressive, and she has been helpful across multiple projects. However, the inconsistencies in her business practices and communication give me pause. A clearer, client-centered approach to billing, transparency, and project management would elevate her services to the next level.
I would consider working with Lisa again because of her strengths, but I would do so cautiously due to these bumps in the road.

Lisa helped us tackle two projects that felt too big to do on our own. We appreciated the push to get going and the communication of different options etc. We also really loved that she took all of the items for donation away for us! Our closet and tuff shed look great!
