About
If you're looking for a piano/music teacher who... ~ adapts to your specific musical experiences, goals and learning style... ~ teaches all ages and all experience levels (beginners welcome!)... ~ will teach from the comfort of your own home... ~ has 30+ years playing experience and 10+ years teaching experience... ~ teaches music theory as well as how to read music and play by ear... ~ teaches how to play in a variety of styles (classical, jazz, pop, etc.)... ~ obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from UC Santa Barbara in while under the tutelage of world renowned concert pianist, Dr. Betty Oberacker (whose pedagogical lineage can be traced all the way back to Ludwig Van Beethoven!)... ...then look no further! Please note: ~ I will travel to your home as long as you have a piano or keyboard. ~ If you are a pure beginner, I do not immediately jump into teaching how to read musical notation (grand staff). Learning how to play music is like learning a new language, and I feel that it's important to learn first by listening and imitating. ~ Payment is required in advance for each package of four lessons. ~ Cancellation policy available upon request.

David has been teaching our 12 year old to play piano for a couple years now, and what I love most is how excited our son is to come home and practice what he learns at David's lessons. David not only teaches how to read music and how to understand and play chords, but he also makes it easy and fun for his students to generalize the concepts they learn and apply them in a variety of musical settings. Our son is even talking about forming his own band! David's Piano School rocks!!!

I am very happy I hired David as a piano instructor because now I can actually play some songs and have fun with my keyboard. He's provided me with the resources to go from "I have no idea of what I am doing" to really being able to learn my favorite songs. Would highly recommend to my friends.
