About
As a professional session musician I’ve made music with people from all manner of backgrounds and genre preferences.
My background in classical piano and jazz has provided the chops to play the music the moment calls for; my love for the great performances from rock to soul, punk to pop, hip hop to country, makes me excited to share that love, and hone whichever tools are needed to achieve the sounds people seek.
In all of these cases, different modes of communication and different backgrounds and approaches to the practice of music are at play.
I bring all of these experiences into my teaching. There, my focus is bringing people into the world of music, and help give them confidence to discover and communicate their musical vision.

Ali is such a joy to work with! Her passion for music translates into her passion to sharing an “Anyone cane do it!” approach. I look forward to our weekly lesson as soon as we finish EVERY TIME! I just sang my first song (at a camp fire) and I got a request to do another one. 😀 Pro tip, go see her live she’ll knock your socks off, seriously she’s incredible. Alison worked with our two girls for about 3 years, and took them from complete newbies to confident piano players. They learned to read music and even sing while playing. Most importantly, Alison flexed with the girls' evolving music styles and was able sustain their interest in learning and improving.
